Kenny007: A little disappointed on the update myself. While the 1200 cap is definitely fitting for the music bundles and some CE/LE games, there are plenty of hot releases that need to move a little quicker as well. As long as Supply & Demand held a bit more weight in the algorithm, I think it would have panned out fine. A step in the right direction though, though a shame the louder, negative side of the forums prevailed.

I think you'd find that very few hot new releases would trade in the first few weeks, unless they actually started out as 1200 points. A while back. 360 games used to debut at 800 points and steadily go up 50 points a week until it hit 1000. Very few, if any copies were traded until it hit the cap, because everyone knew it was going to hit the cap based on demand.

Has any progress been made on how to handle bundles that don't include the accessory? Take SOCOM (PS3) with the Blutooth headset. This has a Game Only listing and a Bundle listing in the database. All requests made under bundle listings have to come with the accessories regardless if you request it as Disc Only, Disc + Manual or Full Package. It seems quite unfair to receive less than that when you are paying 400 Points more than the regular version. Yes, I would definitely like to hear more about that, as I've tried to be a large voice against that practice since it was brought up elsewhere.

I only see this as becoming a much larger issue now that the cap for these games will be raised to 1,200 points.
I-Weapon-X:now there goes a chunk of the Goozcast
A heads up would have been nice , but at least I got to hear kevlar's sexy voice for another half hour or so.

Oh, I dont doubt there'd be a stutter in trading from the onset; I personally had a few titles I figured would climb to 1200, but in the long term, the availability of the option seemed practical. Possibly having 1000 be a sort soft ceiling, allowing the extra 200 for extreme demand.
Who knows though. Just seemed to make sense. I should have spent more time on the forums screaming "GREAT IDEA!!"

GREAT IDEA!
Really happy to see how G-team is handling this cap increase... and happy to see that it's limited to CE/LE and bundles for right now. Also very happy to hear that Goozex is branching out beyond Muze for pricing. Once the algorithms get cleaned up a bit I could see the cap going up across the board, but I think at that point that 1200 will be a much more important value than it would be right now.
Thanks zanna!
Thanks to the G-team for lisening to the users and limiting the increase to LE/CE and Bundle games.

Guess I'm selling FFVII on Ebay then.

I missed this one, where did they say this?
Woohoo, great work G-Team. I anxiously await the debut of the changes. Great to see :) and thank you for keeping us involved and all your hard work :)
I, for one, am very impressed that the G-Team wasnt just giving lip service to the "community feedback". I also am pleased that the cap for regular new releases will stay @ 1000 so that there is room for some differentiation from CE/LE and assesory bundle versions. However, I would be equally fine with the "rare" titles benefiting from an extended cap.
My only issue was with new releases. In the first weeks, the demand is going to outpace supply on pretty much every title so it would seem logical that they would rise to the cap quickly. Effectively the 1000pts for new releases now would just turn into 1200pts for NRs. What problem would that solve? Of course, that's all moot as that's not what's happening.
On to another suggestion that others have made, perhaps there should be different shipping options for the assesory bundle games something like:
Full Package - disc+assesories+manual+original packagingDisc + Manual + Assec. - everything but the original packagingDisc + Assesories - just the disc and the assesories
Maybe this needs to be explictly stated on each relavent game page or it can be set as the general rule for any "bundle" games. But I think it would be better for the community if this expectation is set somewhere in print.

I'm surprised that they....caved!

They always cave. One glimpse of pitchforks and flaming torches and they cave like a nerd's chest.

Yep, and sadly the weight of my ever-present load of angry-mob-supplies cuts down the benefit of having a hybrid ... but it is my little part that I can do in service of internet outrage ...
