I got a trade cancellation request from a user, he stated in the request that he was going to flip the game from Best Buy but they sold out. I know you can't list games you don't own, I know I can accept the cancellation or wait and leave negative feedback, but What is going to be the punishment for this user. I really want some form of justice, more than leaving negative feedback. I personally feel listing games you don't own should result in being banned, but I was wondering if there is a history of punishment handed out for users who don't follow through because they never actually owned the game.

Looking for vengeance isn't good.

You have two choices - accept the cancel request and tell the G-team (help@goozex.com) or refuse it and leave negative ... and tell the G-team (help@goozex.com.  Either way you should tell the G-team (help@goozex.com)and include the email that states they were 'over-zealous'withtheir offer.

I don't know that there is a hard & fast rule that listing something you don't own should result in a ban ... it is more that regardless of the state of things, when a game matches you are expected to ship it out.

Hopefully the experience/embarrassment of offering up a game that he didn't actually own will disincent this user's behavior in the future.  If it's a behavior that's repeated and comes under scrutiny of the G-team, it wouldn't be too much of a stretch of the imagination to see the user being punished.  You've got my sympathy on the issue...

I've seen other users accept the trade to send a game, only to later find out they couldn't locate the disc or that it was unplayable, then offer to cancel with an appology to the other user.  This is a step beyond that, but in the same ballpark.

I can't think of anything more appropriate for Obi-Won to say.

Or Papa Smurf for that matter Smile

On a serious note, I'd suggest to accept the cancellation, report to Goozex (for purposes of a paper trail), and move on.  The longer you stay involved with this trade, the longer you are tied up from matching with another sender.

When you think about it ... have you ever seen them together?

Negative.  I'm personally rather vindictive so I wouldn't let that slide.  Actively listing games you don't own has no excuse.

I'm new here, but I agee with you.  What that person did was low & they should get some kind of "punishment" for it....

I'd tell him that he better get a copy of that game and send it out real quick.

I like your thinking.  This is one way to make sure this user doesnt pull a stunt like this again.

That is pretty much what I said. He waited a week to request the cancellation though so I am not sure he even has time for that. Anyway, I know there has been talk of blcoking users, blacklists and thing like that. I think there should be some sort of public shaming. I know it isn't kosher to put usernames in forum threads so I didn't but I would love to warn other users to avoid this guy. He has 5 seller cancellations in his feedback. Clearly this is not the first time he has done this.

On a side note, can we get people banned who say, I would tip you if I had the points, in their comments. Come on we all know you have the 50 points and you just didn't want to tip.

no reason to ban these people; some of them really may not have the points; others may just be douchebags who don't want to look as such for not tipping on a new game.  You got the points that you agreed to receive and a tip is never guaranteed

Pizza guys are getting worse and worse looking. I guess all the good ones went into porn.
