I grabbed the 360 addon last month for $40. Since then I've been picking up movies on the cheap big time. Got Clerks 2 for $2.99. Just ordered Stardust, Mission Impossible 3, and The Kingdom off of Amazon for $4.97 each. Sure the format may be dead. but that doesn't mean the fine library of titles already on the thing stop working.
Although I agree with you, I can understand how many would see otherwise. I have three HD-DVD players, and my HD-DVD library eclipses my Blu collection...and I love them both dearly. Hi-def is hi-def, they are just storage formats. Still waiting for the Gooz monster to allow the trading of Hi-def movies.

I'm more of a TV show box set/anime/HBO series type of guy so HD DVD, even at a deal would be pointless for me. I don't buy many 1 off movies.

I'm exactly the same way. TV series is mostly what I buy. I do have some of my favorite flicks on Blu-Ray (about 25 atm) but I tend to only buy them AFTER seeing them in theater or rental first since most movies are forgettable after one viewing.
I'll buy the LOTR and Star Wars BR bundles though. I've already upgraded many of my movie sets (Pirates of the Carribean's, Resident Evil's, Underworld's, Terminator's, Chronicles of Narnia's) etc..
I'd love to get the G1 Transformers and Sunbow G.I. Joe series on BR.. maybe 24 & V:The Final Battle + Miniseries as well..

d00d have you seen U Me & Dupree directors cut???? ;) I'll never understand why Owen Wilson is in movies, I've seen maybe 2 flicks w/ him in it and wanted to eat the DVD rather than watch it

He's alot like Ben Stiller: the only good movies are the ones where he gets hit in the head with blunt objects.

While true that Owen Wilson is a douche, Bottle Rocket is genius.
