If I get this game for PC through Goozex, will I be able to play the multiplayer?
I imagine you should; if a game doesn't have full playability, it isn't allowed to be traded

once you get the hang of it, its no problem; i just got the game again for 360 and within a few hours online i had worked my way back to the at least the middle of the rankings
Depends on the mode I'd say. I maxed out my levels, took a long break with WaW, and came back with no real change. Even when the game deleted 11 levels (be sure to back up COD4 and WaW profiles religiously, they are saved LOCALLY!!!!) it wasn't too hard to hop back in.
I just hate 4's nade spam.

I never had a problem in WaW, especially since they capped the nades at 2 rather than 3 with perks. Many of WaW's expansive levels may help with the reduced spam, as opposed to 4's closer quarters.
If it hasn't been confirmed already, I bought CoD4 PC used (in my pre-Goozex days) and played multiplayer fine. Whether that meant the previous owner never played MP or that the servers didn't care, not sure.

Generally the COD games have treated online play as the following: As long as one key isn't utilized by more than one pc at the same time, it's fine. That's how it has worked for me. If you try it, or the old user still plays, you'll get the CD key in use error. Sometimes I even get it when booted from the game and the game thinks I'm still in.

this is common with a sudden disconnect, would happen to me with starcraft/warcraft III
Many of the reasons listed ... why I retired from online shooters. Tired of the glitchers, exploits, and balance issues. Was a great run tho Started w/ Counterstrike, then SOCOM 1 and 2, Warhawk, Halo 2.. seems like Counterstrike was the only one for me that stood the test of time as far as avoiding game ruining glitches.

Agreed. WAW was terrible with nade spam it made it unplaYABLE
