Okay guys, this is one idea I've always had for goozex so just hear me out.  I think we should have a point reserve system.  I dont think anyone has suggested this before so I will explain.  Say that theres a new game coming out that you really want (ex. uncharted 2,modern warfare 2 ect) and you have many requests in your que that you dont want to put on hold.  I think that you should be able to go to your account, and where it says points and tokens, you should be able to save some points. Like say you have 2350 goozex points and 3 trade tokens and there are two 1000 point games coming out that you want.  You should be able to click reserve points and tokens and then type in the amount of points and tokens you want to reserve.  Say 2100 points and 2 trade tokens.then the 250 points you have open to use as always but the other points and tokens can only be used on the selected games (which can be changed) or just put aside until you want them.  Also,a reminder on the homepage of how many points and tokens you have reserved would be nice.  Thats about it.  Comment with what you think of this idea.

There was a thread a while ago about giving games priority over other games when the system runs and searches for matches.  I don't recall the exact thread, but I do believe the G-Team weighed in on the matter (possibly Zanna).

I like the idea of assigning points and credits to a game in your request list, but this can be done to an extent with the 'On Hold' feature.  Better personal queue management tools would be a bonus!

I like this idea, and there are a few instances in the past where I would have used it with certain games.

Just as long as having a game in reserve doesn't bump you up in line or give you priority over users who do not have the game reserved, I'm in favor of this.

I'm all for this idea as long as it doesn't change your rank in the queue. I can't say how much I like Goozex for it's first come first serve.

I really do like this though. Say, you want to save 2000 of your 2500 points for 2 hot new games. You have two 400 point game in your request list, but only want of the two so you can save the other points. Than you get matched for them both Sad. This is how it'd help.

A Goozex savings account more or less. I'd be on board. In a similar vein, I'd also like to be able to "prepay" for my games. That way I'm assured that when a game is available I will definitely get it instead of having another game I wasn't necessarily as excited for draining my points beforehand.

Just to be clear on this idea. Is this Savings or Reserve account ----- Are you guys expecting some sort of interest on your points? Or is this a Prepay for games and that is it?

This idea you guys suggest would prevent users from having 1400 points and having a 1000 pt request and a 800, just before the 1000 pt game you really want comes open for trading you are matched for the 800 and cant afford both.

This seems to be a convience tool for people that don't use OnHold, etc. If you use the system as it is intended to at the moment, can you pretty much play your account as a reserve system?

from what i gather it is just a reserve system for people who still wish to receive games (rather than have them on hold) and at the same time have those points saved for that special game

ie: user has 2400 points; wants fallout 3

1000 points are reserved for Fallout 3 and the user is still able to receive other games with those 1400 points; should those points run out, the remaining 1000 will not be debited

Pizza guys are getting worse and worse looking. I guess all the good ones went into porn.

I like the idea, call it "Preordering" a game.

If you Preorder Fallout 3, the 1000 points are deducted from your account, and will be reserved to purchase the game. If you cancel the Preorder, you get the points back.

The only thing that sounds like a pain in the ass from a programming perspective is managing what happens when the price changes while a game is preordered.

Wouldn't be a bad idea at all if it could be easily implemented.  You can pretty much do the same thing by micro-managing your active/on hold requests but this would almost be like an auto-pilot for the request queue if there are certain games that you want to have priority.

The more I think about it, the more I like it...

I suggested it a few months ago, but your suggestion was clearer.

"

I think i understand what your saying,

Ok, Lets say i have Killzone2 and SFIV along with 10 other games in my request list, & i have 3000 pts to spend.

Getting close to both killzone and SFIV, I would assign 2000 of my pts to SFIV and Killzone2 and have left over pts banked ;1000 pts,

The left over pts,1000pts, can be spent on for entire want list; ie the 10 other games whichever becomes avalible..

so the list of those 10 games would be limted to only 1000pts of our spending..... so we would be match until our 1000pts are spent...  sowith only 2000pts left.  if another game becomes avalible we wont be match...so it wont interfere with Killzone2 & SFIV since those points are locked and set aside...

*so having the power to designate pts to a certain vs. a pool of games would be nice. Think of it as parent-control."

Well,I understand your post, but I think our ideas are pretty different. You want to arrange your requests in a certain order,I want to Save points for specific games.Still,I see where they are similar...

I think this is a good idea, not one I would be interested in using, but a good one.

Just wanted to make an observation on the hold status that was brought up....

To do that would require constant viewing of the availability of wanted games, like, every 30 minutes or so. If I were to put, say, Mercenaries on hold to save up for RE5, I might actually miss games that became available. I do not see M2 being hard to get, but if I were to put a bunch of things on hold, then the potential to miss them would be greater than if I were to have a reserve. Not sure if I explained that right, or coherently! But the bottom line is putting games on hold, with the trades that I have received in the past wher I wasin 'long wait' or something like 85th, would mean I would miss that opportunity while in hold. Then again, only works if you are after more than one game, if just after one, it doesn't seem like much of a problem to use the hold feature.
