So for the first time I have need to resolve a dispute.  I received a game that is unplayable.  The seller has requested I send the game back to them.  If I do this, how do I go about getting my points back?  Any suggestions?

Do Not repeat DO NOT send the game back to the seller. Contact Goozex and they willl probably have you send the game to them so the the G-Team can judge it playable or not, and get your points back to you ASAP.

If I remember correctly (cheez is the Official Cancellations Answerer [O.C.A.].  Wink ) ->

If you wish to send the game back to prevent the other user from getting the negative, you (the buyer) should report the trade exactly how it is (unplayable disc).  Then escalate the issue to Goozex, requesting a trade cancellation.

Not sure if you did this already, but here's how it's supposed to go down. This is how Goozex handles manual trade cancellations:

1. We will ask the buyer to close the trade as they see it. If the game they received is unplayable, then they must leave unplayable feedback.  If the seller couldn't send the game then they need to leave game not received.

2. The seller should then dispute the feedback (this alters the trade in our database for us to start managing)

3. The buyer should then escalate the dispute to Goozex requesting a trade cancellation

4. If the game was received and is unplayable, we will continue with our policy to send the disc to Goozex for inspection.  We do no like, for several reasons, members to ship games between themselves and leave the control of the Goozex system.  For example, we cannot help members if the game was claimed to have been shipped, but never received, meanwhile money was transferred via Paypal.  This, in fact, should be avoided recommendation.

5. Once we have come to a resolution on the manual trade cancellation then we will reverse the negative feedback, refund the buyer, and debit the seller the points and feedback score earned for the trade.

I'd like to hear from some other members as well if possible.  It gives us several days to resolve the dispute, what kind of resolution do they expect me to get then?

So I've escalated and asked them to cancel the trade and change to as if the trade had never happened to our points and credits.  The seller has agreed to this and sent me his address as well.  Now do I just wait for goozex to get back to me and refund my points and stuff before I send the game back to the seller?

So if I've sent goozex and email asking them to cancel the trade, then I just need to wait for them to send me a message telling me to send them the game and the address to send it to?

I did extend the resolution thing because I wanted to make sure the seller had time to reply.  Also, will the seller get the game back?  It sounds like it works on their system, even if it didn't work on the 2 systems I tried it on, so they would like it back if they're not going to get the points.

You should get an email soon to send it to the Goozex HQ so they can test it out. If the seller wants his game back, he might have to message them that he wants it back. Though I would think that if you requested that the trade be canceled, they'd send it back to them, but I've never done a trade cancellation like this. If cheez is around, he should know for sure.
