Is this that big of a problem???? I have never had a game come with a stickered up manual. I have never even been to a gamestop because there isnt one near here so I wouldnt know much about it.  I would assume though that most people who work at a game store would be smart enough to at least put the sticker on the box and not on the artwork but then again every time I go to Dunkin Donuts drive through they screw up my order.ARGGHH I dont want raisins in my bagel

Do you go on the internet and cry about it?

I usually remove the stickers, especially if I'm sending it to someone, but the ones inside the outer plastic on the spine are hard. I've only bought two used games that didn't have them stuck on the actual artwork. I also bought a GBA game and a DS game that were just the cartridges, and they had stickers on them to! I had peel them off and then remove the goo. What the heck were they thinking? The stickers were as big as the cartridges. You can't leave them on there.Has anyone else had this problem?

I feel kinda bad for sending games with the stickers on them. I either remove the stickers or list it as Disc+Manual.

I hear you man. Gamestop just needs to be a regular game store that sells games without the stickers. As for used games, at least they could use disc sleeve, and people could have just grabbed the manual if optional.

I think you're being a little obsessive here.  Damaged packaging would be packaging that looks like it went through a grinder.  If you don't like the sticker, remove it.  It's not all that hard, peel it off.  Boom, look you're done.  You can do it quicker than I could type the last sentence.

If you really expect perfect packaging, then why are you getting your games from a site that trades used games?  Buy it new and suck up the loss of money if it's really that important to you.

I can see how stickers on the box can totally ruin the gameplay experience.

Well said.

This is why I love this thread... inevitably some clown comes in with the 'what do you want for free?' crap line and that's usually someone who will send you something your dog wouldn't play.

The original point was, has been ad shall be that you should mark your games appropriately - Disc Only if the rest of it's trashed in some fashion and that includes stickers that can't easily be removed like those that GameStop has the annoying pain in the ass habit of placing inside the sleeve on artwork for no reason.

I've been in the stores when they state to each other clearly that policy says 'don't take aything used with someone else's stickers on it anywere'.  And they they go trash what does come in with stupid moves like this.

If you send crap, don't bitch when you get lowball rated.  If you can't take a couple minutes to attempt to clean up stickers and such on a Full Package then stop howling or coming here and making assinie statements when you get nailed for ratings points.  You screwed up, you got tagged, learn or shut up already.

I expect reasonable, not crap.  I get crap, I rate it like crap.  A sticker in places I can remove it I'll deal with but if the entre thing is goobered up with stickers, dirt and looks like a 5 year old can take better care of the poor thing I'm going to smack your rating hard.  You don't care?  Neither do I.

Goozex, while flawed and a PIA, is not an excuse or outlet to dump your crap on others and then demand they send you nearly new stuff in return - I'd bet most of those with smartass parts of this thread do that constantly but never admit to it.

That manager is an idiot. Considering stores get rated on the amount of trade they take in, stickers from other stores are the least of their concerns. My store gets Game Crazy/Hollywood/Blockbuster sticers on trade ins and we either remove the stickers and/or replace the case. EASY.

Also good stores do not place a sticker directly on the insert, but slide the sticker w/ backing inside the insert. The main reason they put the stickers there is for quick inventory counts.

I always laugh when I see that excuse, because nothing here is free by any defition of the word. You're getting a very good deal, but you're either giving up games you own or your own cash to get the points.

Not me. I hacked into kevlar51's account well over a year ago.

Hahaha.  It's funny how a lot of people not only think that I'm complaining about a sticker on the plastic case (I'm not) or that I should still give a +10 (I won't.)
I know it's a long thread, but ALL of that stuff has been addressed.

Having been in this thread a while myself, I just wanted to clarify it wasn't on the plastic as it sounds to be quite a rare issue (save in your case).  I've lived in a few different regions across NY and CT with Gamestops nearby at every locale, and never have I seen them put a sticker directly on the artwork.  Not only does that sound stupid, but it would seem to be more work than to place it on the case directly.

I dunno if it's in the translation or what, but i's systemwide that I've seen in this area.  Not that most GS's pay attention to that line, but I've heard it.  And the order to place the stickers on the inner sleeve is coming from the same place.

I know why the stickers are there, for custom pricing, etc. vs. trying to use the UPCs, that's fine.  But not intentionally putting them inside the outer sleeve, that's 10X more work??

My copy of ToV has a sticker on the spine artwork. Annoys me every time I see it. Don't recall where that came from in trade.

HEY GUYS?  Get a game with stickers on the spine or case?

Hairdryer.  Put it on hot/low and run it over the stickers for a few seconds.  It melts the glue and they can be peeled right off as long as you're careful.  There's no need for 15 pages of wank about it.
