I don't really consider a +5 punishment... but I guess some people do. Its still a positive. Its not like you're receiving a neutral or negative.

True, but it's still not full credit.

When someone sends a game to me, I expect it to have the game, box, art, and manual (and any other needed items). As long as I get that and it doesn't look like it was stored in a flooded basement, I'm happy.

I guess the user is within their right to give a +5 is there's some "physical damage" to the game like stickers or left-over sticker gunk. But as other users have stated, this is a used game system, not new. Why would you expect something in new condition?

Keep in mind, I'm still very new to Goozex, so I'm not up to date with everything about this site yet.

It was hands down the most entertaining post in the thread, especially the OP's angry reaction.  It was like a really good "guy walks into a bar' joke.  You already know how it's going to go, but you still laugh.

I'm glad I read this post. I will never send you a game. I don't feel like pulling out the microscope to electro-dust the disc with a tweezers and three strands of cotton. Absolutely ridiculous imo.

I don't even see how a sticker ruins the "art" of some game slip. They put the stickers on the plastic cover of the case, which protects the paper beneath it. Scratch that - I don't even want to know. If I got a +5 because you couldn't see part of an image that you saw when you clicked on the game to add it here, then I don't know man.

It can be frustrating if you perceived the game to be in good or better condition when sending and receive a +5 with no comments or rationale as to why.

Then again there are more significant concerns in life...

The only +5 i've ever given was for a beat to hell PS2 game with the manual worn and folded in half, case art damaged and game seriously scratched but still working.  As long as it looks like you're not trying to dump games on me you couldn't get rid of at a yard sale, i'm pretty generous with +10s.

Disclaimer: Please don't get all huffy at the following, I'm not doing it in a rude or combative manner.

But yeah, it doesn't seem like you read the thread. He isn't talking about putting a sticker on the plastic cover - I'm pretty sure he explicitly said that he was 100% fine with that.

Some Gamestops just have a crappy practice of putting stickers on the actual paper beneath it - thus, if you want to take the sticker off, generally you end up tearing and ruining the paper on the cover of the game.

...giving +5 for that is well within the rules. Please read the rest of the thread, especially the mod post (below) explicitly saying that the OP is well within the rules. Refrain from citing the rules unless you know them please.

I have got two +5's so far.  One was for a few minor scratches on the disc, they were really minor too and there were only like 3 or 4 of them but whatever and the other was a complaint that the case the game was sent in was wrong which I dont see how it was the wrong case considering I bought the game brand new.  The first one was on my first game sent which made it take longer to get the required feedback to send out more games but really I didnt care that much.  Some people are more picky than others and that is life just move on to your next trade.

Good advice... I'm just looking more for a Mod answer since its a new rule that I wasn't made aware of. Cheez told me earlier where it popped up but I don't remember what he said and can't find the post.

You can select what you wish to quote by highlighting the portion you wish to quote and selecting the 'Quote' button.  You don't have to quote the entire post.

For more recent Gamestop preowned games, it's usually not a problem.  They usually put a sticker on the spine portion of the cover art - but the sticker hasn't been peeled off the roll and no adhesive is actually attached to the cover art.  Easy fix there.  Add in one or two other stickers usually on the plastic part of the case which leave a little gunk when removed, but thankfully the cover art isn't damaged.

I remember on some of their pre-owned games from years back they would seeming go out of their way to attach stickers directly on the cover art, which like the OP said, are all but impossible to remove without damaging the cover art.  Thankfully, they seem to have abandoned this practice (at least at my local Gamestop).

Irritating?  Yes...but not +5 irritating to me.
