Hi, I was thinking this could be a good thing...

What if we could trade a game for below Goozex's point value for the game...let me give an example: I am wanting to get rid of my Banjo Kazooie Xbox360 game. For someone to get it from me, it's 750 points but I think that's too high for the game and I seem to be right since no one is biting on it.  So what if I could change the price (not higher, but lower) so that i can trade it faster?

Any thoughts?

a reverse bidding war would escalate and all games would quickly become 50pts each

You could propose a point change on the thread, but that'd be the best you could do.  Applying that for every game would wreck the system, which is why point changes are either done individually personally by an Administrator or on a weekly basis simultaneously by the system in small increments/decrements (50 points)

NOOOO!

Sorry for miny rant but I would probably leave Goozex if they did this. The reason i love Goozex is because it is different than any other site because you don't have to set your prices.

Had to get that off my chest.

Um, the lowest possible price is 100 points.  Just sayin....

yeah i tried to fight this fight not too long ago...eventually you'll realize things were done the way they are for a reason...this site isn't a place to "dump" your old games. it's to help you trade them, fair and square. Things balance out in the end. Trust me.

Not a good idea... you'll just have to deal with it and wait

What about being able to do the opposite and offer more points for priority on a game. i.e. I want resident evil 5, but don't want to wait 343  trades. If I offer 1600 points I get priority. If someone offers 1600 before me Im number 2. I can see how this would go wrong, but I don't believe a slippery slope argument would work here because people would only be willing to go so high, and besides a small group for each game individuals would rather wait and pay normal price than pay more.

If your willing to spend that many points and want the game THAT bad,why not just buy it outright online or in a store?Besides that, this is not to the place to buy your way to the front of the line.If thats your thing, try those other trading sites or ebay.

You'd devalue the Goozex Point and therefore cause the entire western economy to fold under the pressure of communiofacism

well thanks for the replies, I understand that many wouldn't want what I'm suggesting here at Goozex...but it is very frustrating not being able to sell something (yes I know, that's just the way it is.)

I do still like my idea, maybe for people who just want to get rid of games Goozex should "buy" games from people for a low amount of points and "sell" them to other members for (more) points. basically like a Goozex Store. Similar to like a Stootsi.com where there they are a 1-a-day auction site but also have a store of products.

Just a suggestion, like the forum implies...please don't kill me with hate replies. haha

Auction style exchanging with points has been suggested, given reasons why it would not work, and shot down.

That's putting it nicely.Big Smile

You say this is not a place to buy your way to the front of the line, but you really don't give any valid reason. You just tell me to shove off somewhere else. To me and I'm sure others these points have no cash value. I don't buy points and I will not buy points, I just trade in old games that I would only get a few dollars store credit for arbitrary points. Anyways it wasn't a suggestion, just a question. As i thought no one has been able to provide a satisfactory answer; maybe a response from Goozex is in order.

If you qualify for the Goozex Exhange you can spend 1600 points on a new game.  They have ran the Exchange the last two months and have sold out of the 50 copies rather quickly.  The service is still only in beta right now so it's hard to say just where exactly it will lead.

As for being able to negotiate the price of games (offer more or less than a game is worth) I don't see Goozex implementing anything along those lines.  They did try to raise the price cap a year ago and that was met with harsh criticism.  I was at a site that allowed that kind of trading and it became a nightmare to use.  There are other sites beyond Goozex that you can use to supplement your game trading needs.

I think Goozex's automated system is what makes it attractive.  The more 'extra' features you through into the queue, the less appealing it becomes.  In the past Goozex hasn't made changes that have allowed people to actually jump queue spots and I don't see that changing.
