Alot of gamers on Goozex are of different ages and raised on different consoles. Wondering which console generation is your favorite? Maybe it had the best games, or maybe just a special place in your heart. Consider only home consoles - unfortunately no love this time for computer gaming and handhelds.
For me it would have to be the 16-bit era (4th Gen). I already had been playing a number of years, but it really hit the fan when I got a Genesis for Christmas.

6th generation for me
I loved sega genesis as well. All the games were just pick up and play and it didn't matter if your save was deleted or whatever. I likedN64 too.

Only generations I have been in: 6th and 7th......
6th: I only had the gamecube and it was on a fairly small tv.
7th: I have the wii downstairs with a new widescreen and 360 upstairs with awesome speakers + Rock Band 2.
Gee........Let's think about this.
I voted 5th generation, but I can't believe theres no love for tennis for two.
Had to go with the current generation. It has been the most fun I've had playing video games, mostly because of XBL and the Goozex community.

Tennis for two??

Anything requiring a osilloscope is just beyond old-school for me. I thought I was doing well in at least including the Odyssey....

I picked the 16 bit generation for nostaligia purposes. Not really sure why, since I played just as much during the 8 bit generation, and frankly I think their are a lot more good and better games out this generation.
...so maybe I threw away my vote?

I'd say whatever you played the most or had the most fun playing is the best choice, so your vote hasn't been wasted.
This gen though game wise,...not that impressive to me. All of the games seem to be follow-the-button-pattern button mash games.
I'm a little disapointed the Dreamcast was not mentioned. I had a lot of fun at undergrad playing online with that. But thanks to Goozex I have to choose this gen. I can enjoy every game and not go broke.
I enjoy what I am currently playing the most. While there are single games from each generation that are classics, I rarely go back and play them. (X-Com is the exception)

Fixed.
I would consent to a flogging or attack by a pack of wolves for the oversight - I still love my Dreamcast.
Went 3rd Gen. Today, I still find myself playing SMB3, Metroid, Castlevania, Dragon Warrior, Zelda 1 & 2, and a few others. There was a lot of shovelware in this generation, but this was also the generation that included (or when I discovered, at least) arcade games such as: Street Fighter 2, Altered Beast, and Gauntlet. Good memories.
Huge strides and great games in every generation. Gotta give a nod to the Tron arcade game from gen 2, and the PS2 I had was worn out before I could play all the games I wanted to (missed everything from Final Fantasy 12, on).
Wow, thanks for the nostalgia thread.
5th gen of course. I was tempted with 4th because sega genesis was my first console, and I rememebr spending all day on that thing, blowing into cartridges, and the controllers would always wear out on me.
You guys are making me feel old. I jsut turned 17 a month ago, and some of you are saying you never even experience 5th gen. You guys are really missing out. then again, someone who grew up to 3rd gen would probably say the same to me
