TriptychR: Sorry, but I just can't see myself trading movies; not when Netflix consistently sends movies to me within two days for a set price. If it's something others want to do, though, I don't think I'd mind the option being on the site.

I think the movie trading would be more popular for those who like to collect DVDs and/or Blu-Rays. Many of us use Netflix and or "other" means to procure movies, but I am for anything that gets more users in the door to see the great features and community Goozex offers.

okay why do people keep talking about netflix, you don't keep movies from netflix or blockbuster online or any place where you rent them unless you purchase them, so why can goozex exist with gamefly around? thats my question to the people who keep going on about rentals.
For example Jim trades out 99% of his dvd collection so he can get points for games, including all of the Sopranos series dvds. Now if my ex friend didn't steal my almost complete set would i trade for the last half of the last Season, the answer: hells yeah if it was at ~550 points or less. Now how i would get those points, I would probably trade out Fable 2 disk only from the limited edition that i just recieved a little while ago and maybe pickup another movie or two or a low cost game.
I said yes to Blu-Ray only. There are enough DVD sites out there to trade out, but Blu-Ray is harder to find a good trading site for. Would love to see Goozex do this. But calling it Bloozex or Blu-zex would be more appropriate. lol
killmak:Just because it has been explained doesnt mean it was a good and valid explanation. I understand the points you are trying to make about this topic however I think they are flawed points and would have very little effect on game trading here.
killmak:Only having it so you can use game points on dvds is going to cause a large excess of points in the dvd trading section due to there being no way of getting these points out once they have been put in.
killmak:If they are going to introduce dvd trading they will have to either have it in with the game trading or have it completely seperate (trade credits could be shared though). If it was completely seperate I would use it less often and most of the extra members brought in by dvd trading would just stick to that part of the site and not venture into the gaming part as they would have to start over with their points.
killmak:Anyways I think I am right and you think you are right so lets see what happens and in the future one of us will be able to rub it in the others face that they were right. (I am sure it will be me rubbing it in as I am super awesome )

Personally, I consider movies more of a "I'll probably watch it once or twice, ever." sort of thing, whereas games are played much more often. That's why I feel more inclined to collect many games, whereas all the DVDs I've ever owned sit and collect dust after one or two viewings, until I get rid of them.
Now, I know that's not the case with everyone. A lot of people do enjoy collecting movies, sure--especially when it comes to series box sets. However, I would still venture that there are many more people who are perfectly fine with renting movies and not owning many than there are people who are fine with renting games and not owning many. And please let me add again that I'm not against this idea.
It would probably be better if you could set it up where the point systems were seperate for games vs. movies.
DEFINITELY! BLU-RAY! OUTSTANDING!

Not a terrible idea might be a good place to unload some boxsets
BTW what would those be priced at in points?

It might not be a good idea for sing movie dvds. I rather it be like boxset and tv dvd sets. Complete anime sets would be nice also. I'm just worried about the dvd/blurray conditions.

This dpesn't really make any sense. You'd be worrieda bout the condition of single movies, which were be a lot cheaper, but not of boxsets where there's more disks?
I think that Blu-Ray and DVD trading would be best served by their own trading site, separate from Goozex. That way gamers can get their games, and movie traders could get their flicks.
Now I won't deny that if there was some sort of point exchange between the two sites, I'd be cool with it, but it still could dilute toe trading pool.

I would do both.

Yayyy I could finally trade my 5 free BD's I got 2 years ago for points!
I'm not much of a movie collector... I've got like 8 DVD's and 4 blurays aside from those 5. Well, that and some import anime box sets I doubt I'd ever trade. I don't know if it would really dilute the game market per se, but it could make points a bit more valuable if they're spread out. I think the bigger thing though is clutter on the site... I could see the points and trade credits being the same, but just so long as there's something like PSN where there's the game store, and a switch for the video store.
oh god if this happened people would star wanting the stupid little inserts that tell you which scene is which oh god manuals are bad enough
