Hey everyone,

The GTeam has been tossing around ideas this Friday and something we've seen before and have been asked many times is if we're ever going to have Blu-Ray or DVD trading.  So Zanna says "why don't you ask the forum people?" and I say, "Yes sir, how high?....erm...OK good..." and before I could finish my sentence NinjaJ walks in and pimp slaps us and says to be quiet b/c he needs to make a call to some honeys.  Yeah, it's one of those Fridays...

Please select the option that best describes you

So let's say the following on Blu-Ray/DVD trading:

  • $1 Trade
  • Blu-Rays probably be around 300-800 points
  • DVDs probably 100 - 600 points (majority at 100 - 200)
  • Yes, I would definitely use Blu-Ray and DVD trading on Goozex (47.3%)
  • Yes, but I would only trade Blu-Ray and NOT DVD (9.2%)
  • Yes, but I would only trade DVD and not Blu-Ray (12.6%)
  • No, I wouldn't trade either Blu-Ray or DVD (12.1%)
  • I'm not sure, I would need to see the points pricing and maybe DVDs are too low in points pricing vs shipping (18.8%)
  • Total Votes: 207

I'm not too sure.

While the idea on paper seems fine. The point difference between games and movies may be too weird to look at.

I definitely have a bunch of DVD's I would put up. I don't have any Blu Rays I would want to trade now, but I probably will sometime down the road.

Really not a fan of the idea; feel like it would dilute the trading pool too much

Pizza guys are getting worse and worse looking. I guess all the good ones went into porn.

I think NinjaJ needs to work on his pimp smackin' technique...

I would use this for blu-rays for sure but dvds scratch too easily so I would be very hesitant to trade them.

Like said before it sounds good on paper but I am afraid it would hurt the game supply. If it does happen I would like to see a separate page like goozex.com/movies so you need a separate account to trade so that you are not taking games out of the system and not being replaced.

id be fine if the DVD/BRD division was SEPARATE from games; in that they do not share the same points, trade credits being shared with an account would be fine though

That's pretty much verbatim what I said in the focus group.  I still stand by it.

I twittered my response to you, but for the benefit of other people to read:

Hmm, I think we should just focus on being the greatest game trading site and keep that up to snuff since Goozex thrives that way. Am I more inclined to wait 3-15 days for a movie where other rivals pretty much prevail in no wait time? I don't know about this. If Im shipping out one movie through Goozex, that'll be roughly $2-3 per shipment. That's a rough price point when Netflix is $8/mo. People are inclined to trade them, but there are no benefits to buy them off Goozex, imho.

For me I would only trade for some movies, evil dead series, and the rest would be anime movies and seasons. Would be interesting if imports would be offered.
