i agree with DrFuzz, SE, LE, CE games should be able to be worth more then 1000 points because they can cost anywhere from $15-$25 or more when people buy them, so what real incentive is there to send the Special Edition, when one could just send the disk and get the same ammount of points?
Personally I'd see the incentive as getting more value for your game than you would at Gamestop.

I think he meant incentive for the purchaser.
Example:
If I want a CE of, say, Street Fighter 4, I obviously want all the extra stuff that came with it. The statuette, the extra movie disc, the art book, etc. That's part of the whole package. If you tried to sell these at a store, no one would actually take all the extra crap, and even if they did, they'd give you a low price for it. If I want this special edition with extra stuff, I should be willing to pay more points for it, maybe even a lot more points for it.
At the same time, the person trading the game should actually include everything with their shipment. If you're just sending the game disc and nothing else, it's not the collector's edition. it's just a flashy regular edition.
Thus the simple solution of raising the possible cap on any Special Edition game to 1500, (don't set them all to 1500, the current demand algorithm should still be in effect) but a requisite rule for trading SEs of games is that EVERYTHING must be included. If you're trading the GTA4 SE, you need to include the duffel bag and all the stuff. If it's the CE of Morrowind, you need to include the little pewter Ordinator figurine and the soundtrack CD, along with the box. That stuff will cost more to ship, but the payoff is that you'll be getting a lot more points for it. Being able to trade 1 CE game for 1500 points is huge... you could get a new release regular game and a 1 or 2 year old game for that many points, easily.
The incentive is that you'll not just get mroe value for your game than you did at Gamestopo, but you'll get more value for your game than someone who just has the regular edition of the game, because you paid extra and got the game when it first came out, and have one of the lesser produced Special Editions of the game. They only press Special Edition releases for the initial release of the game, that's been an industry rule since about 2002. By default that means that that version of the game is, in fact, rarer, and should be worth more.
Does anyone think people would be willing to trade RockBand Special Editions for 2000 points? How about 2500 ?
What if the demand for some special editions vastly outnumbered the supply at 1500 points? Shouldn't the value be allowed to increase until people are willing to put them up for trade?

That added nothing intelligent to the conversation. At least give a rationale as to why you may disagree.
I really don't like this for the general community, but I personally would love it.
I'm pretty patient and don't want too many hot releases so...
Instead of trying to flip "overpriced games" I'd go to Target, pick up RE5 for 60 bucks and then sell it on here for like 3000. How great would that be??

that would actually be really stupid, because then EVERYBODY could just go get it for $60. That defeats the point of goozex if RE5 is $180 worth of goozex points. There's really no reason to use goozex if the point value is considerably higher than the street value...hence the 'overpriced' games.

No, because look at the goozex exchange. Why don't people just go and get that for 60 bucks?? Because gozzex points don't equal money. Some people have some 30,000 points and would pay a premium price (maybe not 3000) but would be glad to get it quick. They would have no reason to buy it they had "6,000 dollars" of goozex points.
Anyway, you said "the everyone would do it. Hence, you put the supply up and problem partially solved. Then, soon enough the price would go down.
But like I said, I don't think it would be good for the whole community, just me.

Well that makes sense. I still don't see how goozex points don't equal real money, though. I suppose that argument works for people with 10K+ points. However, when you're sitting on 1k points - that's $50 no matter how you cut it because I just sent out a $50 game for that 1k points...
But, yeah, that second quote makes more sense.
