He probably set up one "main" account and several "seed" acounts. He could "send" games from the main to the seeds (provided there's still the 100 pts. + 1 trade credit startup deal in effect), build up enough points, then use his 1 trade credit for signing up to request a game for 1000 pts or so. Not cool.
