Bonus for trading games within a month

I was reading around about how people were frustrated about the long waits for new realeases, and an idea came to me.

Goozex could give a 100 point bonus or something similar for sending a game that just came out within a month.

For example, Killzone 2 comes out on February 27th. To promote trading of that specific game, Goozex could give a 100 point bonus to the trader for sending/trading the game within a month, which in this case is before March 30th or something.

This way, newly released games would be traded more (at least within that month), and the lines would somewhat move faster.

I don't know if a 100point bonus is a good incentive for people to trade games they just bought, but it could work/help somewhat.

Ah thanks for letting me know. I was going to search it but didn't know where to start. "Bonus" would bring up a lot of threads and such.

IMO, this would be worse for the value of people's points than raising the point caps for new games.    If anything, they could make games 1200 the first week, 1150 2nd week, etc etc and it would be back within the 1000 point cap after a month of it's release.      Not going to happen though.

I don't think he means raise the price for the first month.  I think he means that the buyer pays 1000 points and then Goozex gives a 100 point bonus to the seller.  I suppose it could provide a bit of extra incentive for people to buy new and trade.

I understand what he's saying - but you're just putting more points into the system that way.      More ways for 100 points to be generated without Goozex receiving $$ isn't a good thing.     Plus, I don't see why they would want to encourage new releases to be traded so much that they are willing to lose money on the deal.      They'd be giving away $5 in points to get $1 in trade credits.

Allowing new releases to be above the point cap only for the first month would do less to devalue them, you can still get every game for 1000, just not within the 1st month of its release.   And no new points come into the system as a result.

I've always disagreed that new points being "created" are a bad thing (I believe it is absolutely essential to the system), but since I'm not prepared to argue that point here I'll drop it.

I do see what you are saying and more or less agree that it could help.
