I have a feeling I won't be keeping this long.
I played about 5 hours of the game and got tired of it. Trade it back to the next unlucky person.
I love it. The weapons are great. The fire and explosion phyics are amazing. The missions are fairly repetative, but it might be my favorite game of the year.
I don't usually quit a game because I don't like it; I might stop because of important things coming up, or because I am playing too many games at once. But far cry 2 is the only game that I played and quit because I just hated it (ignore this post if you love it). I put about 8 hours into it and these were the problems for me:
1. Took forever to get anywhere. The bus system for me was worthless.
2. Totally forgettable characters. You care nothing for them, even the supposed good guys because they are just as bad as everyone else.
3. Story is completely forgettable. 2 factions fighting for whatever reason, and there's no reason to like one over the other. The only person I didn't dislike was the priest, because he had the least amount of dialog.
4. Bad/cheesy dialog/voice overs, in my opinion.
If after a few more hours you still like it, then congratulations, but I couldn't get into it. And it had so much potential; looks great, has a map editor, open-ended (supposedly), etc.
Call me crazy but I love it!
crazy.

What I didn't like about the game was the terrible story and characters - story was almost non existent throughout - they throw a slight twist your way at the end but it's still pretty terrible.
Story/characters aside, the game itself is somewhat fun so I ended up finishing it.
i love far cry 2 and fallout 3! far cry 2's grahpics are AMAZING!

LOL.
I guess it would work better if I could put the sound effect in.
