This is correct.

Technically it can be based on the hardware used inside, which is why the Wii is negotiable. It's Gamecube hardware on a current gen release.
mafafu: Look, the Wii is a glorified Gamecube (I own one). I am talking about a HD experience on a 360 or PS3.

Ah, mafafu. Ye of the HD koolaid. Who cares how they classify a "gaming generation?" Years from now we'll look back at all the fanboy arguments and barbs traded, we'll cringe a little first but then laugh. That's how I look back at the good ol' 16-bit days.
What was this thread about again?

No, I enjoy a good old-school game. many of us were saying recently that sonic needs to go back to 2-d to make itself viable again. I just wish Dragon Quest was on something that was either not a handheld (too small for my eyesight) or the Wii (with shoe-horned motion controls).

Agreed.
I don't see the point in arguing. The 360/PS3 are in the same generation as the Wii. They're just in different subsets of the market.

I guess my point was that I think the whole "HD experience" thing is just a marketing phrase and total hooey. It saddens me when I hear gamers talk this way, as I sometimes feel a lot of the companies these days have turned their customers into company-line spewing drones.
I haven't played Dragon Quest since it was Dragon Warrior on the NES, but my understanding of the series is that it intentionally stays "old school" to the point where it almost hurts itself sometimes. I can't imagine a Wii version would change much of that sensibility.

I think it's a valid point, especially when you're playing in HD on a bigger screen. The Wii's inability to put out an HD signal can be straining to the eyes.

Or you could just have poor eyesight and appreciate the crispness of the image, not be a "company drone". But thanks for the insult. [:'(]

I think Nintendo has done a great job of this.
I, for one, appreciate the PS3 and the 360 because they display nicely on both of my HD tv's. My sister-in-law brought her Wii at Christmas and after playing it for about 30 minutes (on my father-in-law's 50" Panasonic Plasma) my eyes were pretty irritated. I might as well have just hooked up a PS2 or GameCube.

OK, fair enough, sorry you took it personally (although I really don't think you phrased it that way initially).
I just like the Wii for what it is, not what it isn't. I think the same can be said for the HD boxes, although around here I so often read folks spouting the greatness of one and the crapness of another. Can't we all just get along?
A real Starfox game, similar to the original and the one on the N64.
ALAS!!! back to the topic at hand....does anyone remember Cystalis on th NES?? that would be great to revive for the new generation.
I want a RE like 1, 2, & 3. with not over the top mutations, but simple mutations from all types of species like dogs, spiders, crocidiles, snakes, humans, etc. I also want it to be an immense puzzle solver rather than a shoot and run for your life type of game. If i want to just kill a horde of zombies, i should go play L4D not RE.
