Hey. I am a noob in this system as a disaffected sayswap user. I was wondering how this thing worked. I know the system automatically finds matches for you to both send and receive games. I also know that certain games (Fable 2, Fallout 3, Gears of War 2) are going to take forever to get. But will I get them eventually. Is that a guarentee? I just really don't want to lose my games and get nothing for them. I wasn't a part of sayswap for long but it seems like that is how things were working out for me.

With those games it pretty much is a garuntee that you will EVENTUALLY get them.  All of those games were bought in heavy amounts and fable 2 / fallout 3 see pretty good circulation around here.  As long as you know it may take 3-6 months to get them; you should be good

Pizza guys are getting worse and worse looking. I guess all the good ones went into porn.

Welcome yankees7448, I also defected from SaySwap (a few years ago).  It might seem like you'll never get those AAA titles, but they do move rather quickly.  It also helps that they are single player games (I'm aware Fable II has horrid Co-op).  The key to Goozex is patience.

I'm going to try and decipher that.  In the meantime, please read the FAQ and How it works (located at the bottom of the page).

Directly from How it works:

Trading on Goozex is easy: once you list your requests and offers, you don't have to do anything else! Just wait for Goozex to find the perfect match for your transactions!

1
Offer Games
Offer games: Add the games you wish to trade to your Offers list and wait for Goozex to find a perfect match. Goozex will notify you automatically when a game is requested by another user.
2
Earn Points
Mail games and earn points: When Goozex finds a match for you, mail out your game to another member, and earn Goozex Points.
3
Receive Games
Request games: Add games to your Request list: all you need is enough points and trade credits to receive the games in your list!
Goozex will notify you automatically when a game is shipped to you.

My Offers

Lists the games you have and make available for trading with other users

How to add games to your Offers:
  • Find the game you're willing to trade
  • Click "Add to My Offers" on the game page
  • Wait for Goozex to notify you by email once a match occurs
The Goozex system will notify you via email every time one of your games has been requested, so that you can go ahead and mail it to the requesting user. You will still have the possibility to accept the trade, delay it, or reject it if you prefer to keep the game.

My Requests

Lists the games you would like to receive from other users

How to add games to your Request list:

  • Find the game you want using the search tools
  • Click "Add to my requests" on the game page
  • Wait for Goozex to find a match for you automatically

If the seller accepts the trade, the Goozex system will notify you via email when the game is shipped to you (just sit down and relax: the game will be delivered to your address if a few days!).

No, you need a Trade Credit(s) to receive the game(s) on your Request list.  These can be purchases at $1/ea (you have to buy a minimum of 5 at a time).

bigbell:

That is the current amount of Goozex Points the game is worth.  If you were to get matched to send the game, that is the amount of points you'd earn.  Alternatively, if you wanted the game, you'd need that many points plus one trade credit.

I believe you can also earn trade credits if you refer somebody to the site and they complete an outgoing trade.  I'm not 100% sure if this promotion is still in place.

I don't believe you need to wait to trade games.  If you have the points and credits you can trade.  Also, you can add games to your request list at any time.  If you aren't ready to receive them just put them on hold, that way you'll be in the queue.

Heh, I totally misread the title.  Got done reading all the posts before scratching my head, thinking, 'There's nothing noble about this conversation...'

partial quote from cheeznrice

"...If you aren't ready to receive them just put them on hold, that way you'll be in the queue."

OMG thanks! Been looking for this tidbit! Got hung up on that 2 / 2 allowed to list when you're a brand-newbie. Still there's a bit more needed explained regarding using HOLD option, if possible?

Should you only put games on HOLD if you have enough points already to trade for it?

Should you only request games if you have enough points for the grand total of all the games requested whether active or on hold? Transactions take time to be credited and so forth, could we find ourselves short points etc. if you get several your-turn-is-up-in-queue all at once or close together?

Can you put it on hold if you are willing to purchase required points necessary, if need be, when your turn in queue comes up or do you need to already have sufficient points and credit in your account before you place game on hold?

Can you put it on hold again if you are still not ready for trade when your spot in line comes up?

If my spot in queue comes up before one of my allowed occupied "active" slots frees up, what then? Do I remove an active game request by placing it on hold (or something) and making the one that's ready which was on hold "active" in the other game's place or does the trade just proceed because it was my turn in queue and amounts (kind of) to getting an extra opportunity to trade more often?

Put up to 100 games on hold, whether you can afford them or not.

Even if it's active and not on hold, if your turn comes up and you don't have the points, you get skipped, and retain your spot in line for the next time it becomes available.

The whole point of on hold is to prioritize what you get.  You can't choose which games will get matched and sent to you, so only put the ones you'd like in the immediate future as active.  If you're low on points and really want just one game, put the others on hold so they don't steal your points.
