I'm looking for some clarification regarding trading Madden '09 (PS2).

I bought my copy used from GameStop, disc only.

Obviously, the demand is far higher for a full package--it's the only listing for which there is demand that's not on hold.

I am able to obtain an original instruction manual for the system.  However, I need to know if the item would be considered "Full Package" with a quality print-out of EA's downloadable Brett Favre New York Jets cover art (as in printed in color, at the highest quality level, on glossy paper).

If this would be considered full package, I'll go ahead and get the manual, print the art, and list the game as "Full Package" rather than "Disc Only."  I'm currently second in line to trade the game, but demand is going nowhere in terms of users getting off of the "On Hold" status for either the "Disc Only" or "Disc + Manual" options, so if the custom art wouldn't warrant a "Full Package" listing, it wouldn't merit getting the manual.

Thanks for the help!

I would not consider that full package.  I have had practice printing off covers for games and it is not easy and never is exactly the same as the real cover.  Just list it as disc + manual and wait your turn.

Cool.  I ended up finding an original case and manual for the game on EBay, which I went ahead and bought.

Now, just to be certain, the fact that I now have the game, the case and cover art that comes with the game, and the manual that comes with the game, allows me to list it as "Full Package," even though I bought the case and manual separately from the game itself, right?

If it is the original package, you can call it full package.

I would not consider that full package. Maybe disk and manual. The case and the cover slip art from the store are important to me.

It's one of the alternate official downloadable covers, so you can put your favorite team on it?

If so, then yea, why not?  I'd consider it full package, if it's an official cover supplied by EA.

Well, it's an exact copy of the original cover, released by EA Sports and available on their website.  The only difference is thatBrett Favre's in a Jets jersey.  Since the game and its cover art shipped before Favre signed with the Jets, they offered the download for those who wanted the cover art with Favre as a Jet rather than a Packer.  The cover is identical in every other way.  Same picture of Favre, even--just with a different jersey.

Maybe use the cover, then ask the buyer if they are OK with it before you accept the trade.

how much did a case+manual + shipping cost you on ebay? I'm just curious.  I never go to ebay, is there a big market for selling game cases and manuals?  who has a bunch of cases and manuals but no game discs for sale?

Case, manual, and shipping, in this case, cost me about $8.  To me, it was worth it, as I was getting absolutely nowhere trying to trade disc only here.  There are probably slightly cheaper options available.  This particular seller was called BRE Software.

in another thread a guy was saying how he intentionally throws away his cases/books... at $8 each he is almost throwing away cash 8O
