I'm seeing the ability to list Gameboy Advance games, but no original or color gameboy games. I'd really like to see this happen, even in a limited form. Gamestop has been closing out these games as well as many other store chains and so they are no longer carried, yet the market is still flooded with them. There's places like GameTZ and Ebay, but I think I'd have a much better chance in filling in specific titles here like I have been able to do on other platforms.

If it's a question of point value, why not value them the same across the board, then single out rare/hard to find titles and raise their values a bit higher. I figure there's quite a few people hoarding these, they might as well list them and get points while we can fill in whatever we are missing from our collections. Smile

Sorry if this is a redundant post, I didn't see any immediate active threads on the same topic.

It's a question of whether or not the battery is still functional so the game works properly, i.e. if the save progress functionality is still alive.

Gameboy and Gameboy Color games have little batteries in them that keep the flash memory where the savegame is stored alive, these batteries die after a while thus rendering the games pretty much worthless.

This is just an educated guess, but GBA games probably have semiconductors that recharge whenever you play them, thus eliminating the problem of "dead" savegames.

Well in that case, what about the gameboy color/original games without batteries? We could at least trade those. How many original edition games had batteries? Maybe the color games had more battery use, but I'd expect this to still be a small percentage.

I can't imagine tracking down all the info in the  games being at all worth the trouble.

Game Boy Advance games use non-volatile flash memory, similar to what you'd find in flash memory cards.  This type of memory doesn't require a continuous source of power to maintain its state.

There are a lot of really good games on the game boy color and game boy. I Would not mind them being included. I am more concerned about the GBA and GC games staying in the system. Its only a matter of time that they will be removed.

This is an interesting thing to think about. Has Goozex said anything about eventually removing consoles for trading?

I'd love to see OG Game Boy games up on the site.  People question battery life, but how many people have Legend of Zelda at home with a working battery still?  I do.  Those suckers seem to last a long freakin time and I wouldn't be surprised if most Game Boy/Game Boy Color games still have working batteries.

I personally would LOVE to get my hands on a complete Shantae for GBC...

why would you be concerned about these games being removed from the system?  Just because development of the games is discontinued is no reason to believe that the games will not be tradeable. (ie Dreamcast)

Pizza guys are getting worse and worse looking. I guess all the good ones went into porn.

Let's assume we require that all Game Boy cartridges be fitted with microscopic nuclear reactors so the battery issue is moot.

How do you address the fact that cartridge-only copies of most Game Boy games would be worth 100 points or less, whereas the same game with a decent-condition box and manual may fetch more than our 1000-point maximum price?
