Custom Gaming Forum?

Can anyone think of a custom gaming forum besides the ones owned by huge companies? I remember about a year ago, I visited this great gaming forum which was completely custom made. it was promoting the interaction of gamers without resorting to fanboyism.  My problem is I can't remember the URL for the life of me, but I do remember it was just a FORUM(no mainsite, no evil corperation ownership,completely indepedent) but very high tech profile system similar to goozex's and also similar to goozex in the silver green skin. It was more organized like a regular forum, though. So if you know this magical place, please post a link, I'd love to bookmark it.

bump, c'mon. Can't anyone think of General Gaming Forum, that didn't use vbulletin, invisionfree or any forum software, that wasn't part of bigger gaming site? I also remember, everyone had like their own console forum, which you had to be a xbox user or wii user, etc to access.
