Neither IMO. Still haven't found that all in one device. My psp sits on the shelf somewhere.

iPod Touch. If you want games though, go with the PSP.

Can play more expensive movies, where you have to change out discs, with a MUCH more limited selection (TV shows etc are also on the iPod).

Can play music, with a much worse navigation system.

And better, more expensive games - yes. But it depends what kind of games you want - if you're into casual for less expensive (which most people are for portable devices), def. iPod. PSP has some great games, but they're usually ones where you sit down and spend time with them.

I voted for the iPhone, as its better in everything besides games - except that I wouldn't play the PSPs games anyway. Also, its way sexier Smile

Actually You can download movies on your psp memory stick (and games)

And the psp can plug into anything and you can get songs off it, not just your own computer.

But for me me its a tie because i prefer my psp, but the itouch is funner to show of

Get a PSP, I have one and its awesome. You can surf the web, play music, waaaaaay better games, videos/movies,the PSP also has a great battery life for a Portable system about 2 1/2 to 4:00 hrs.

Depends what you want from them, I have both so here's my thoughts.

Games: PSP>>Touch (obviously)

Music: Touch>>>>>>>PSP. Not only can the PSP obviously hold less with the max size memory card, the navigation is terrible, it's clunky, and just not a good music system.

Movies: I wouldn't buy either for this but PSP>Touch. Bigger screen, better battery life, etc.

Photos: Doesn't matter but I guess Touch>PSPbecause of the options and everything.

Both have internet browsers but Touch>PSP

depending on the firmware of the PSP you can hack it and get a bunch of other apps, games, etc but you can also jailbreak ipod touches and IMO Touch>PSP with "hacking" additions.

Me personally I'd go for a Touch, unless the game aspect was a bigger part for you. Mix in the fact that you can play games from NES>PSX+PSP games and also homebrew games and it's a no brainer.

You won't be happy with either of these choices if you really want an all-in-one device. Get the Ipod for music and the PSP for games.

That works too. I'd recommend an iPod classic over an iPod touch. How many of those touch functions are you really going to use? Go for the bigger storage.

Or get the PSP for God of War and Patapon, then throw it away b/c you are done with your PSP.

PSP.  I tried the Ipod touch... Very awkward playing a FPS.

Multimedia?  Ipod touch of course.   stick it in your pocket without the worry of scratching the screen.

It really depends on your priorities. I mean, do you want casual pick up and play games, or more of a console gaming experience on the go?

The PSP is a game machine first and a multimedia machine second. It can tackle movies and music just fine (as well as web surfing) but it's true strength is in it's gaming capabilities (which are awesome in my opinion).

I am a huge fan of my PSP and I never travel without it. I've got a 4GB memory stick (8GB are around $40 these days) loaded with movies (which I converted myself) and music but when my PSP is on it is mostly playing games.

Unfortunately, we've had abit of a dry spell lately as far as the PSP is concerned, but if you were to pick up one now there is plenty in the backlog to keep you busy until new worthwhile games come out. Again, I don't know what type of games you're into so your mileage may vary.

I go back and forth debating on picking up an iTouch. For me, I'm looking for something to help me stay a little more organized as well as offer a little more out of on-the-go web browsing. On my PSP I check gmail mobile, google reader mobile, flickr mobile and facebook mobile and that's about it. The PSP doesn't handle normal normal browsing of sites (such as Goozex) all too well.

Does the iTouch have a built in speaker? That may not be a big thing for most people, but my wife and I like to go to sleep to familiar background noise, so when away from home I'll usually throw the PSP on the nightstand and put on a movie like The Incredibles to fall asleep to.

I think both the PSP and iTouch are capable machines, it all just boils down to your needs. If gaming is the priority, I'd go with the PSP. Not that the iTouch doesn't have quality games, I just think you'll be happier with the experiences the PSP will offer you.

If gaming is secondary, you should seriously consider the iTouch then.

just my two cents - let us know what you decide.

I use my iTouch mainly for the web & music.  I've played a few games on it...but in the end it's just not my thing.  I've watched a couple of movies, and it's actually a nice thing to have when travelling.  The real win, imo, is the internet use.  Unlike the iPhone, you need a wi-fi network for it to work, however.
