So there was a discussion on GameFAQs about how you shouldn't buy your games at gamestop and should buy from half.com. I posted a very similar thread pertaining to goozex instead of half and got a 24 hour ban. So I post in this one that you could also try goozex and refered them to my signature which is join link. You guessed it, I got busted for ''spamming'' yet the obvious promotion of half.com goes unmodded.

However I did get one person to join. :

Lastly I usually just lurk around the XBOX360 board and wait for people to go in and complain about being ripped off at gamestop. Then I come in and just type TRY GOOZEX! and I don't get modded, some consider, some flame me. Yet either way people discover goozex.

many sites are strict about any promotion of other sites in a thread; goozex has similiar guidelines in the forums

Yeah, promotion can get very annoying on the forums. When I'm this upset, I go to homestarrunner.com to forget about my problems in life!

Since you said you did get one person to join, I'm assuming you used your referral link. That's probably what got you banned.

I just still don't understand while the entire topic didn't get closed as he was promoting half.com yet I got flagged. Oh well. Honestly I could care less about the free trade credit and 100 pts. I just want people to join so everything moves faster and theres more availability of games.

I haven't read the thread (link?) but again, the difference is most likely that the original post did not have a referral link, and yours did.

I got banned from the PSN forums just for having a Goozex sig. Needless to say I dont visit those forums anymore, even with the ban lifted, for the second time.

It's one thing to tell someone to try half.com or ebay, and another thing entirely to tell them to try another a site and give them a link, from which you personally benefit.

No, its not. He already stated that he could care less about points, so a refferal link is out of the question. Other than that I don't any Personal benefit, that is different from ebays, or half.com.

Ok, he didn't care about the points, whatever, he still posted on a forum and gave his referral link as reference. If he had just said Goozex.com, ok, then it would be different.

No matter if he cared for the points or not, he benefitted from the join, therefor giving the assumption he was there to promote himself rather than the actual website.

Sorry, I missed the part in the first post about the refferal link, I though people were just assuming he posted a refferal link and not just a link to goozex.com in general.
