Once liquidation companies move in (which is happening here), deals at first tend to be worse than what the store had before it shut down. And people eat it up because they think they're taking advantage of a great going out of business sale.
Will the Circuit City void allow Futureshop to return to the states? I loved Future Shop.
they do have some deals for guitar hero for the 360 online! i feel sad for the employees but the circuit city's in Tucson SUCK!

I got the majority of my speaker setup from the closing of the Great Outdoor store (sears?).
I got at the time a M&K setup more than 50% off and bought extras to sell on ebay. made a nice fortune. Sold a ton of polk audio stuff for 50% return easy. 1 item i had was the top of the line polk center channel that was retail $350 and I sold it on ebay for $270. Paid $100.
I got my new wheels ;)

The best part is when the "geniuses" come back after the prices drop more and try to return things, even though the signs say NO RETURNS.

I'm really hoping Fry's Electronics comes to the Midwest to fill the electronics specialty gap. Their stores are amazing and I would never have to go to Best Buy, Radio Shack, or Gamestop ever again.

Well you're right, there's not one in Seattle proper. There's a couple really nice ones in the metropolitan area though. Covington and Poulsbo has a nice newer Super Walmart. Since most on here don't know seattle though, I used it more to give an idea of the region, not the actual location.
ive never seen a walmart in seattle either, well the ghetto side, south end of seattle.

Futureshop is now owned by Best Buy, so i doubt we are getting those. (Futureshop nearly went bankrupt because of overexpansion into the US, allowing Best Buy to buy them on the cheap)
An expansion of fry's would be really nice, but i doubt that will happen so i'm/we're still stuck with web only. another chain that could fill the void is micro center. people seem to like them, but i personally have not dealt with them (closest store is in a very bad neighborhood)
as for circuit city themselves, their closest store to me was 15-20 minutes away while best buy is less than a mile away, so i didn't go there unless something was on sale. they did usually have a better black friday sales though.
I can't wait to get in line with all the Wal-Mart shoppers tomorrow at 7am to loot the place.
I'm bringing my boots to help make sure that at least 1 of the people losing their jobs won't have to worry about it after the stampede!

we have 2 fry's in houston. the original is nice and has a theme (oil) and the one in austin is nice (piano theme).
the new one near me has NO theme and it's ghetto already. I'm thinking it's just the people that live near me. My dad has vowed never to go there "after dark" cause he's scared. I thought that was hilarious until I saw the parking lot and how the people don't exactly scream "friendly"
Microcenter sucks. tried to buy guitar hero world tour online this morning and they cancelled on me. I've been to their store like a total of 2 times in the 20 years I've known of them. Never bought anything. Prices aren't good and disorganized.
The worst about circuit city is the way they organize their media and black friday (the cashiers stations being everywhere and isles being clustered). awful.

As has been mentioned, don't get your hopes up for clearance deals. They won't be that great on day one.
