I watched Kick-Ass earlier, and I have to say, it's one of my favorite movies. The action sequences are arguably the best ever made.

Day of the Triffids and Omega Man. I like old b-movies and popped both in. Triffids is awesome and Omega man was very good. Never knew the I Am Legend(novel) = Omega man = I Am Legend(movie). learn stuff from watching tv, w00t.

ZitterZap:

SALT - Nicely paced, nothing special but not boring also.

Heard it was somewhat similar to Bourne but with a female lead instead.

That's right. I wouldn't recommend spending 10 bucks and going to the Theater to see this. Just wait for the DVD to come out. It is a nice Action flick but don't expect anything more than that.

Law Abiding Citizen.

One part in particular is very predictable, but it didn't take away from the movie at all. Don't look for any Oscars here, but it'll hold your interest. Gruesome and fun. Watched it twice.

American Pie - Was awesome, like always.

American Pie with commentary - It's funny, the way commentary should be.

Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus - Strange.  Not bad but pretty weird, if it wasn't Heath Ledger's last movie I kinda have a feeling no one would have paid any attention to it.

The Vampire's Assistant - Nothing special here.  Again not a bad flick just not good enough to recommend anyone spending the time to watch it.  Although Salma Hayek's boobs were prominently displayed in that outfit she wore Surprise  Too bad she was barely in the movie Sad

I saw Scott Pilgrim vs the World last night.  I absolutely loved it.  After that, I came home and finally watched Kick Ass.  I also enjoyed that movie a lot!  However, it wasn't quite as I expected it to be.  It was much more violent, and the little girl was way more killer than I had imagined!  Really enjoyable movie overall tho!

I finally got around to watching Kick Ass last night and had a similar impression.  It seemed like such an innocent movie over the first 30-45 minutes, but holy crap the last half of the movie packed some action.  Really liked it overall.

Also watched The Crazies a couple of night back and found it surprisingly good.  Good pacing and a couple of genuinely tense moments.  Really didn't expect much out of it but wound up liking it.

The Road and Kick-Ass. The Road was decent. Interesting story for another post-apocolyptic movie. It didn't blow me away but I was interested all the way through. Kick Ass is hard to rate. It definitely has some funny moments but it was more like awkward humor. I agree with the others that say this has more action than you would think. Worth a rental at least, if for nothing more than "off-beat shenanigans".

Catastrophic

Date Night - Funny but not as funny as I was expecting with those two.  The part with the Taxi Driver was freakin hilarious.

Centurion - Pretty decent flick.  Nothing new and exciting being yet another Roman War movie but the story was well done, the acting was pretty spot on and the fight sequences were neat (if a little over the top).

Kick Ass.

Plot was very predictable, but still entertaining as hell. Great writing, lots of funny moments. Acting was decent. They could have picked better actors for the two teenage superhero characters: it makes sense that they would be uncharismatic nerds, but this is a movie, at least try to make them appealing. Nicholas Cage once again did a phoned in performance where he almost fell asleep, but it just so happens Nic Cage about to fall asleep is a good enough performance to fit any role. The little girl was an excellent actor, and I usually hate child actors. The love interest was pretty hot and surprisingly developed for a throwaway love interest, but I didn't like the way that plot thread developed - I would have either liked the main character to not get the girl, or a little more closure to her plot thread near the end instead of forgetting about her. The action sequences were a bit overdone, and the first person segment was... stupid, but I liked the strobe light pistol attachment (never even heard of one of those things). The soundtrack was very poorly chosen.

Good movie.

Kick Ass.

Just kidding.

I watched Django last night and it's just an interesting Spaghetti Western. A mysterious stranger who drags around a "coffin filled with chaos." Count me in.

Mad Detective was pretty good as well, it just has one of those endings that make me scream out "You stupid bastard! I hate you!"

Exiled was another fairly well done movie, visually captivating and the journey is fun to tag along on. These titles can be found on Netflix and I rate them all within the mid-upper echelon of assigned point ratings (they're a good watch.) Drinks

I watched Kick Ass and Mega Pirhana last night.

Kick Ass' bad guy was the best ever. Yeah, others may blow up a hospital or some other really bad stuff, but to be face to face with a little girl and plant some lead in her takes a cold bastard.

Mega Pirhana... Let's just say that I've never done any drugs in my life and this one made me want a joint...
