i like goozex is better because it feels more "Authentic".
i completely agree. it also is more user friendly in my opinion.
i mean, i go to check CAG and GameTZ and you have to go through all kinds of things before you actually see what you're getting into. For Goozex, I joined the day i found out about it because i was able to check things out without registering and it looked fairly easy, which of course it is.
I didn't open this thread to bash GameTZ, it was just how funny they were bashing Goozex. Like pugmagician I love both sites. What I really don't like about GameTZ is they are so unfriendly to new members that the site never grows, like when I new guy asks "How do I offer a game" they say stfu N00B!!! Get the eff out of here you stupid go to hell. I'm not even kidding I had to deal with that. But once you get past the ass members and the "archaic" interface. It's a really good site with some good deals and members. I really like Goozex because it's so much more friendly though. But I encourage anyone to use both, they both can help with what you want in different game tastes etc. And if you do go to GameTZ don't let the mean 5 year members get you down and out (there are quite a few nice ones.) I think both sites are pretty good overall. And yes, friendly competition is healthy.

This just isn't true. I'm not saying it hasn't happened (it has obviously happened to you), but it's not common nor tolerated. There's a mentor program in place where established members greet new members and help them get set up.

This is incredibly true and it happens on an almost daily basis at GTZ. Noobpwner hit the nail on the head as the new users who do stay turn into users that jump on the new users exactly like they were pounced on for simply joining a website and asking questions.
I do enjoy both GTZ and Goozex but my trading is dominated by Goozex.

I don't know what you're seeing, but I don't see it nearly that much. Like I said, it happens. Probably even too much. But, it's not as wide-spread as you're making it out to be, in my opinion.
I rarely see new members asking questions in the forums, anyway. Not because their indimitaded, but I think it's because of the mentor program. When they have questions, they just ask their mentor.

That's actually kind of funny, I was sifting through e-mails today and I saw one from you about shipping.

I spend a lot of my GTZ time in General and Site_Feedback where any new user that makes a topic is immediately bashed. A very unpleasent experience for most people just looking to trade and getting used to a new website.
The mentor program is a step in the right direction but is far from a cure to the welcome mat that doesn't exist from the GTZ userbase.
And then I saved the day and sent you Lost Odyssey.
Catastrophic: Back when I was jonesing big time for Lost Odyssey and the journey was seeming too long for Goozex and money was tight, I tried gametz and was appauled at how the site looks like it was put together on geocities or something. Then, navigating through the damned place was annoying and not very user friendly. It was just really horribly put together. Then I went to their chat rooms looking for some assistance. Wrong turn there. I ended up not having any luck through the site and deleted my account.

I've noticed some harrasing here in there still on GameTZ, though whenever I see it I'll tell them to knock it off and leave them alone just as any other mentor would I belive. I think the bashing has died down alot from what it used to be but you still have some assclowns like blowjobbob who can't act in a civilized manner. I wish Bill would do something more to some of those users but with his new more lineant policy it pretty much keeps him from banning anyone for being anything short of scammers.
I could swear I remember the creator of Goozex having an account on Gametz and was asking/getting all kind of feedbacks and supports about his new up and running site. And now said new site's userbase claim to have never heard of Gametz. Funny how the world works sometimes huh?
I don't assume that the majority of GameTZ users are like the few referenced in that thread. In fact, I'm learning (slowly) how their site works. There are things that can't be traded here, and I hope to (again, slowly) offer those things there. It seems like a great community as a whole, from what I've seen.
Also, when you sign up, they offer to pair you with a 'mentor'. I think that is a great idea, maybe even one worth stealing.
I feel bad (and am sorry... how often to you hear that on a forum?) because I was too busy communicating my anger at the posters in that thread to communicate that I think that GameTZ looks like a great site with many 'good' users, unlike what the referenced thread seems to show.
But GameTZ has another fault, I've heard people complain that it has barely even changed in the ten+ years its been around. If you do think about their system what has really changed at all?

It's actually changed quite a bit in the 10 years I've been there. When I first joined there where no forums, no chat, no offering system (you just shot emails back and forth), basicly it was just a real small database where you could list what your wants and haves and there was no rime or reason to it you could have the same game or system in there listed 30+ different ways.
Only been around it for 2 months, so maybe not. At least that's what a lot of veteran members have been complaining about in a few posts.
