I don't tend to do a lot of flipping as I generally only browse stores when I'm 'on a mission'.  I too fear being stuck with a bunch of crap I dont need, and Ebay's fees keep crawling higher.

I did get started on Goozex with flipping.  Bought 2 copies of LBP and Mirror's Edge when they were new at about 20 a piece.  All went out the door at 1000.  Roughly $120 in profit via points to get me going on Goozex, as well as get me out of the first three trades rut by offering hot titles that would surely move fast.

Yeah, but after you got raped by eBay on seller fees you probably only made 100$. x.X

Actually, that was back when they weren't too bad. Now you'd probably make less than $100.

bought a few ps2 network adapters at Game Crazy for $.99 on clearance(even got a few for free from people trading in ps2's), usually sold for $40-50

I posted an ad on Kijiji stating I was looking for a PS2 network adapter for $10.  In about a month I picked up over 20 of them.  I ebayed them in a big bundle and made $500 for less than an hour of work.

I also bought a set of PSL's (personal seat licenses) that same year for $1800 that I could have easily flipped for 12K to 15K the following season.     I still own those though - I'm not giving up any of my Bears season tickets.   :)

Being a die hard Bears fan myself,i don't know if you could give those away after the way they played last week.

People will still pay a fortune for them.    Even with the Bears doing worse than the economy, they're still probably worth around 5 figures.    If there ever comes a time where they're worthless, that means people are getting good seats through the season ticket waitlist and I'll just load up on more tickets.   :)      That's not going to happen though.   I had to wait a couple years on the waitlist even during the Wanny era.

It's amazing what people have and don't even know. One of the MvC2's that I mentioned I bought came from a kid who traded it in to Game Crazy. Gave him $5 for it(more than the $3 in store credit he was willing to take, so I can at least sleep at night). The funny thing about it is, the stack of games he brought in, all old sports games and GTA games, scratched to HELL and back, cracked cases, missing/torn manuals. Pull out MvC2, looks like he opened it, put it on the shelf, and it sat there for a few years. Copy was in PRISTINE condition. Kid didn't even know it was worthy anything.

Just about every game I've traded on here sans a few brand new titles I've found at a local second hand store for 4.45.  They have a scratched section where they sell discs, but to my advantage their definition of scratched is "oh hey fingerprints!".

Anyone found any really awesome flips that are worth sharing?

I noticed that there are a fair number of PS1 games worth 1000 points that you can get for under $30. For instance, DDR Disney Mix is 1000 points, but it's a $25 purchase used, and there are three active requests for it. You could buy it from Amazon and have the seller ship straight to the recipient, and voila, you never left your desk and you made 1000 points for $25. I don't mind sharing this one because there are plenty of other 1000-pointers that you could score for under $30 if you surf the web a bit.

Some other flips seem too good to be true, like Flower (a $10 game on PSN) is worth 700 points, and Critter Crunch is also 700 points for a mere $7 on PSN. But there are plenty of offers and no takers for those items at the moment, so YMMV on that one.

Makes you wonder who is spending $50 to buy 1050 Goozex points from the G-Team directly... :) Obviously we're all here to get a good deal, and working a flip like this is a 10 minute exercise.

Well, this does broaden the conversation a bit from "a flip you got once" to "find a flip you could get right now," but this was a very enlightening thread for me :) Reminds me of some of the buying-and-selling grinds I used to do when I had the time to scour Usenet for underpriced items.

I'll have to think of a few other things that made me go Wow....

This year has been semi slow

I flipped a $10 DC system with games and VMU for $30

I bought a Saturn with 18 games and a gun off CL for $45.  Sold the gun and two games for $40, then sold the rest as a lot for $50

Sold an xbox I got for $5 from a Garage Sale and a silent scope light rifle I got for $10 for $70

DMC4 CE from a closing Circuit City $10, sold for $50

Van Halen, if that counts. I'd image this will be the first night in history for people to be racing to hit the offer button on release night.

My best game related flip was earlier this year I bought 64 older PC games from a guy off CL for $30 and sold one, Baseball MVP 2005 for the PC, for $65 on eBay.  The rest were posted here on Goozex and to date have netted me 5,450 points and I still have several offered.  Most of them were Star Trek or Star Wars related and had a decent demand.

Best overall flip was a modded PC case that I built in 2000 for $120 that I traded for 14 Palm III's with a bar code scanner.  I ended up selling them on eBay for between $175-$225 a piece.  The guy I traded with on a forum had received them from his uncle after his company stopped using them and had no idea of their value.  I told him after the fact when he asked me what I did with them a few months later.  He was shocked to say the least...
