I was browsing through the Sims 2 expansion packs the other day and noticed that even though you don't need the actual expansion to play, people had all of theirs listed as on hold!

So I got to thinking, how come no one was trading these games?  Perhaps they just timed out?  Maybe they added the games and put them on hold while they played?

Perhaps we could implement a feature on the trading info page, a button that would send emails to all the owners of games that have listed them as on hold, timed out or otherwise.

I image the email could look like this:

Subject:  Your games on hold could be worth a lot of gold!

Body:

Dear Trader  ######,

It has recently come to the Goozex community's attention that you have games that people want!  Maybe you should go check out your "on hold" games page and see if any of the games listed there are in demand.   As a matter of fact, the reason you're getting this email is because of the immense demand for your games that are ON HOLD!

Happy trading!

Obviously there would have to be a limit on how many times these emails were sent per week / month / year, but I think the concept is pretty valid.   We could give the users an option to opt out of the on hold reminder mails too if they got too incensed.

Well maybe they're on hold because the point value doesn't persuade them enough right now.

I have one game on hold because I think it could go higher (probably not, but it's worth a try.)

I don't think most of them will ever rise over 100 points. Wink

Bump.

C'mon, I know all of you see at least a few games on your request list that you could get it the users would just take the freaking games off hold.

Personally, I would really hate it if I started getting these emails.  Especially if they were generated by users through use of a button on a game's page.  I know what games I have on hold and whatgames are in demand.  That's the main reason that I have them in the On Hold list - so that I can keep track of point values, queue position, trading volume.  I really don't think that many users just forget that they have games on hold.

I would not mind getting one of these on a periodic basis along with the 'points change notice'.  But just one containing all games.

It's funny.  We get an email for point changes eelated to "requests".  It would be nice to get something for offers or "On Hold" offers.

I can see the value in that idea.  Although I would prefer if Goozex let me know the change in price of my offered games.  I understand that they don't want people putting games on hold if they drop in price, but I'd be much faster in activating games that raised in price.

I think if they just sent out one main e-mail with first section showing the price changes in your requests and the second section showing changes in your offers, it would be a great help. Everytime I get an e-mail showing my requests change, I immediately have to go to goozex to see what changed in price on my offers side. Kind of annoying
