I know that generally it is faster to request disc only, but with newer games that have been released in the past few months, wouldn't it be faster to request full package?

still faster to request disc only. I've been first on games that just came out, but copies that are disc only or disc + manual have traded out before I get a full package

Some people who bought a game at release and want to trade it out here will still list it as Disk Only because they know they will still get matched up for a trade and can save a few extra cents on shipping out a smaller package.

Like others have said, it is faster to get the game if you request it at Disk Only as you will get matched with any offering of that game.

I also want to add something in to what these guys are saying, because I think you are confused about how the systems works. There are not seperate queues for Disc Only, Disc + Manual, and Full Package, they are all the same queue. This means that asking for Disc+manual or Full Package will never be faster than requesting Disc Only.

Right.  If you're first in line to receive a game and you are requesting a game as Disk Only, you will be matched with the next person in line to send out the game - even if that person is listing as Full package.

If you're first in line and requesting Full Package, if the first person in line offering the game is listing as Disk Only, the queue will skip over that person until it matches with someone offering Full Package.

I use to only request Disk Only, and most of the time I would actually receive a full package.

Im new to the site and just requested my first game.

As soon as I clicked "add to my requests" on the game description screen, it automatically paired me up with a "disc only" user and now I am waiting for his approval.  I was anticipating seeing a selection screen for the option for the box, manual and disc but didn't get one...  Did I miss something?

How do I make sure I am requesting all 3 instead of just the disc?

Thanks

If I have a new game and would like to play it again some day I'll send it out disc only and keep the case and manual, then later when it lowers in price I'll request disc only and have a complete set.

First off, thanks for the informative info.  I, also, thought that there were three separate queues for Disc Only, Disc+Manual, & Full Package.  It's quite helpful to know that this isn't the case.

I'd like to piggy back on this question with one along the same line.  I've got a PC game that is a full package.  Admittedly, the box isn't in the best shape, but the discs work, and the manual is built into the CD case insert.  I'm really not attached to it at all.  Truth be told, I mainly just want to get rid of it.

I've listed it as Full Package.  There's one person with a request (on hold) for the Disc Only version.  Will the system match me up (when the request comes off of hold) with the Disc Only request, or would I need to switch my listing do Disc Only?  I can always chuck the worn box.

Once you've requested the game and it appears in your "Requests", there are three little icons with a picture of a disc, disc and manual, and a full package. Just click the one you want so it highlights it green, and that's the setting that you will get. You can also do this with offers and when the popup window first pops up when you request/offer a game, you can switch it there too. Furthermore, if you go to "My Account" link in the top corner of the site, under the "Preferences" heading, there should be a link that reads "change my default shipping options". Once clicked, there will be two boxes, the first for your requests and the second for your offers, and the three options underneath each once. Click the bubble next to the one you want, and it will automatically make each game you request/offer that option.

Listing as 'full package' as a SELLER means you will match with *everyone*.

When you list as 'full package' as a BUYER it means you will match with *only* 'full package'.

Here's a decent example for me at a least. I get games cheaper through gamefly due to random coupon codes etc...

I may decide to use on on a game Im renting. I keep the game for cheap but I don't have the manual or box yet. Gamefly will send those to me. But I may want to just get rid of the game quickly after playing it and maybe haven't recieved the extra stuff yet.
