Hello all, I've signed up with Goozex about a month ago after getting a recommendation from another forum. I was impressed with the concept, and signed up and immediatly offered my copy of LittleBigPlant which sold minutes later.
However I didn't realize that there would be such long waits on game requests, I guess I didn't fully understand how Goozex worked, I was expecting trades to be a little more instant.
Anyway after digging around I finally found that I was in position 110 of  Active and Ready to Trade (for Star Wars Force Unleashed PS3),  and an overall postition of over 200 including the people who had the game On Hold. Currently I'm in an active position of 97.

I was just wonder for those of you who have been here for a while, Whats the longest time you've ever waited for a game request? I understand that there is a wait due to the supply vs demand, but hopefully I can get games before they hit the discount bins. Huh?

it really depends on the game

I think the longest i waited was 3 months for Civilization Revolution. I started at 120th but it was worth the wait.

Wow those are all impressive wait times! Surprise Don't you feel like you could have just saved a few dollars from each paycheck for a few months and could have bought the game already?

What could be the best way to use Goozex to ones advantage, it seems like it would work better for older and harder to find games.  Waiting 11 months for a newly released title seems impracticle.

for me it's fine; i'm not that kind of guy that needs every new title that comes out and if you start using the site; you'll see for the most part wait times arent that bad (dead space, bio shock, and guitar hero world tour all for ps3) took me less than a month to receive; as the game backlog begins, you will pay even less attention

To echo and expand on this:

The best way to use it is to list all the games you are willing to trade and all of the games you would like to receive.  Then, let them come on their own.  I started last July and I'm sitting on a backlog of 4 games in my posession (and several requested too) by going about it with a variant of this concept.  (and 6k points now too, so now I have to put games on hold until I finish my backlog)

The "send 1 out, then receive 1" system will always feel too slow until you get a couple game backlog and some spare points

For me the games I have had on my list since I started are

Aliens Vs. Predator: Extinction (xbox)

Predator: Concrete Jungle (xbox)

Red Faction II (gamecube)

Plan on waiting for awhile if you're mostly into new releases. If you want to deal in these kinds of games, put any games you think you might be interested in on hold, and when a good game gets released, you can get a great spot in line if you can stay up till 1 AM EST. If you can't, make sure to get in line by the next day or you'll be in the 200+ zone.

No I'm not soley interested in new releases. Its just this instance I had the intention of trading a new game for another equally new game. LittleBigPlanet for Star Wars Force Unleased, but I did'nt realize the requests were so much greater than the offerings for that game. I'm thinking about canceling that trade and just getting some older titles or a couple of Ps2 titles. But for that I'd have to buy more trade credit.

NFL Blitz 2000 for the PC.  Took about a year to receive, not because it's popular, but because nobody was offering the game.  I'm not really into sports games, but I really enjoy this game (I also own 2 copies for the Playstation).  Been looking for something similar on modern consoles, but nothing compares.
