As soon as the NXE downloaded, I installed Tales of Vesperia. The game had good load times to begin with, but it easily shaved a few secconds off. The load screen practically just flashes for a seccond now.

I installed Fallout first.  Then I installed Fable 2.  I hated the load times on Fable, and it helped out a lot with them.  Finished Fable and deleted it from the HDD, and installed Eternal Sonata, so I can finish that up.  It's not as noticeable as Fable was, but it definately cuts down on the spinning crystal in the corner of the black screen.

I think what I'm going to do is install every game I'm currently playing, then remove it when I'm finished.

I'm installing Mass Effect right now.  Probably won't do anything for the elevator wait times.

Let me know how much it helps.  That's next on my to install/play list.

From what I've read on MAss Effect, the elevator loads are hard coded, but it does eliminate mid-level loading.

I installed Mercenaries 2, Skate, and Gears of War 2. Mercs sees a slight upgrade, I'm not sure about Skate or Gears though, as I installed them before I tested the load times. :D

Also, for those interested, NeoGAF has a list of 360 game installs, how much the install takes up and whether the install helps or hinders loading times. Check it out here: Official Xbox 360 Game Installs thread

So far the load screens have been reduced from around 20 seconds to around 15 seconds, and as Chris pointed the midlevel loads are gone.  The midlevels were the more annoying, so all in all worth the 10 minutes or so to install.

Right now I have Fable 2 installed. When I get my 360 back and beat it, I will install Dead Space or Fallout 3.

It shouldn't. By Bungie's own mouth, Installing should actually INCREASE the load times by at least 10 seconds.

I installed Fable 2, and it makes a difference, a few seconds here and there, and the 360 is near silent while playing.

The only issue is now my 20 gig HDD seems too small.

and

The loading screen on L4D is cut down by a couple of seconds.

As well as Gears 2, when between the loading screen before starting a co-op campaign, as well as multiplayer loading screen is cut down.

i know, which is why I was surprised when it took less time, my disk is pretty beat though (halos the only game i use frequently). i timed several maps and it ranged from 2-3 secs more on the hdd,(isolation) to 25 sec less on the hdd (sandtrap) i found that my average was about 5-10 seconds less with the hard drive

Halo 3 MVP x5.
