Hello all. My apologies if this has already been suggested, it was just something that occurred to me today.

Would it be a good idea to get an email notification when something happens to games that are in your 'Watch List'? I only ask because I had "The Last Remnant" on my watch list before it released, but being busy kept me from noticing that it released recently. Now, I'm in 174th place, haha.

I'm just suggesting that users get and email a day or maybe 12 hours before a title on their watch list is released. Point changes already happen, but I haven't seen one on release yet.

It could lead to busier queues when the system is updated because more users are aware of titles' release dates, but it would still be a benefit, in my opinion.

Is this a decent suggestion? I'm still new here, so I'd like to hear what others have to say about this.

yeah, watch lists for me don't work. What's the point?

I think one night I was staying up I went ahead and added all the games that were releasing that night on my watch list. I would then refresh my watch list and when it went live at midnight I would request them.

Well, once they go "live" it gets removed from the watch list and I had to go to another screen ( new releases).

so to me the watch list doesn't work or maybe I'm not using it how it's intended. Having an e-mail reminder would be a nice addition to it

Thanks for the backup, spooon!

It's good to know that I'm not the only user who wants a bit more functionality from the Watch List.

Does anyone else have suggestions about this?

Anyone think this is a good idea?

In my experience, games do NOT get deleted from the Watch List when they launch.  So that sounds like a fluke you saw spoon.

I wouldn't mind an e-mail reminder when a games moves from Coming Soon to Released if it is on your watch list.  Even better, why not move it to the Requested queue in a Hold state?

Just wanted to add a vote for email reminders for the watch list. This would be very helpful. Without them the watch list isn't terribly useful.

I think this has been asked for before and I support it every time!  It definitely would be nice to have the option to be notified.

I'm bumping this thread back up to voice my support for this idea as well.  Just missed a title or two I was supposedly 'watching' as I had no notice its release date had arrived!

Just a quick question on Watch lists and game releases...I know Goozex alwasy updates at midnight on the day when a game becomes available, when making new games available for requesting, but it is Eastern Standard Time, Pacific Standard time, or some other time zone.

Reason why I ask is that I just added Demon Souls to my request list the same day it came out, and although I did it at like 5:0 AM EST, I'm 96 on the list.

I think the "auto add" has been suggested and knocked down before, it kind of kills the queue. Reminds me of when my staff ask in February for Christmas off, in the hopes of getting "first dibs".

I do like the idea of a reminder email, though. If you are truly interested in a game/movie, we could get a simple reminder email to stay up that night!

Thanks everyone for chiming in your opinions on this!

It still seems the watch list is useless, and that does no good for anyone involved. If you don't get notifications about items you have in your watch list, what good is it?

I'm proposing an email either the morning or noon/afternoon before a title in your watch list releases. That way, if you need to stay up you know in advance! I understand that an auto-add would ruin the queue, but an email would rock just as hard.

Here's hoping someone at Goozex agrees and gets this email system working - otherwise, the Watch List stays useles... :(

I think an email would be great, I logged in and checked my watch list this morning and noticed Saw had come out, which I had forgotten about. But I don't think this list is entirely useless, i've put old sports games there that I actually am watching for a point drop. I don't really know why, but I'd rather them be there than in my queue.

And CoJoetheLawyer, games release at 1:00 am EST.

How about adding a specification on receiving e-mails option, like daily, quarterly, monthly, etc.
