Well possibly who ever accepts first gets the match in cases where there are only enough points for one game but matched with multiple.  If the second game's seller doesn't accept then the match it either goes away in cases of only one buyer, or would go to the next buyer in cases of multiple buyers.  It's not ideal but I think this would also encourage faster acceptances (if that's a word).

Another alternative would be in case of point restrictions then you would still only be matched with the first game.  In my scenario the points could still be held, but you wouldn't be restricted to the first seller in line, rather the first to accept in cases of multiple buyers and multiple sellers.

I just feel like the first buyer in line should be the first to get a game in cases of multiple buyers.  The seller queue would only be relevant in cases of a single buyer but multiple sellers.  So if there was only one person "buying" the game only the first seller would be matched, only and only if there were multiple buyers would my suggestion go into action.

Please go ahead and throw out additional scenario's and I can try to explain further or refine my comment

my problem with the flippin n00bs is that they acceppt the trade, then never send it... cuz their-of course-trying to scam the system.. in turn if f's me up in not getting the game, having to wait 3 weeks to cancel the damn trade, then get reinserted... meanwhile, i waited till midnite to click my want for getting a new game and now 1 month later, i still dont have it...then, guess what? another flippin n00bs hits the trade AGAIN!!!! i want ZERO trade n00bs banned from shipping a 1000 point game or new game for the 1st 5 weeks!!! this is becoming sickning!

I think this thread has done a lot more harm than good so far.  Because as soon as this thread popped up, Fake Offers have been happening to me way, WAY more often.  I think this thread has actually been giving people the idea to start scamming.  I just came across two separate accounts made in JULY...  JULY!!!  0 positive feedback.  This would imply there have been people scamming the system for many months, and now more people are joining in on the fun.

Jesus... Christ.  Give people an inch and they'll take the whole yard.  I'm very displeased by the idea of people taking advantage of the system while I go the honest route.  When I spot an old account that has never had any actual activity, I'll be sending out PMs like this, I wonder if anyone sees a problem this this:

"Your account was made in July and you've never had a single successful trade.  I suspect this account is fake, as has been used to tie up my own account while another person got a game that was for all intents and purposes rightfully mine.  If this account is indeed fake, I'm quite displeased.  You've got 48 hours to respond before I give negative feedback explaining the situation and requesting an investigation of your IP Address, as well as checking for repeated uses of your E-Mail Address.  I have no intention of waiting another week for this trade to potentially time out.

If you are genuinely sending me the game, I'd like a response and Shipping Confirmation.  If I've accused you of shady practices wrongfully, my apologies, but do please respond."

honestly, i think yhis is just something we may have to live with. maybe it would be best to discourage this rather than try to eliminate. something like suspending trading for users that have 3 consecutive time outs ( i can only assume people doing this maintain a single name for fake trades). i dunno, just something that would force people who do this to work harder for it, rather than trying to eliminate it outright. its been said here, im sure, that we cant actually prove anything, and we cant just drop the hammer on everyone we suspect to catch a few dishonest users.

i would say that more honest users have been informed of this than dishonest ones, so i dont think this thread has cause any substantial amount of harm. its always good to inform other people of a potential problem, rather than letting it fester and grow.

Perhaps.  On the other hand, Goozex has responded to the problem very quickly and has informed us of a fix.  If you come accross what you think to be a fake account, my advice would be to contact the team via feedback and let them know of your concern.  This is a good community and if we, as the users can help to ferret out the cheaters it will become even better.  Good luck.

Well, the team jumping on the issue is good at least.  I'm glad I made sure my PM's gave users the benefit of the doubt, because I at least got one response saying the user just didn't use his account and that he'd mail the game tomorrow.  I should know pretty soon if he's being genuine or not.

I hate to say, you might be right about this.  I posted on the first page or two that I've never seen any evidence of this type of behavior, but since then it's happened a few times.  I haven't done any detective work, but I've noticed a trend for sure.

So this has / is happening to me three times, for three different games concurrently, right now. Users who've been around for a couple of months, no trades in or out, trading not even brand new games (GTAIV, Gears of War 1) holding up my trade spot and letting it time out? I mean, sure, I guess they could end up sending it out before the time's up, but I'd wager they won't.

This is pandemic enough that if it doesn't stop (third time on the GoW1) I might just use up my points and stop using Goozex altogether.

I might pay more / get less at EB, but at least I don't have to be strung along for over a day, wait, and then strung along again?

It sounds like what you're describing and the subject of this thread are two different things.  Some people sign up for Goozex and don't have any matches at first, so by the time they do get one they've forgotten about it.  These types of offers can be annoying, but eventually they'll be automatically removed by the system.

Goozex is not about instant gratification, it works better if you're not constantly checking your lists.  Eventually the system will find a match for you, and the process will be much less frustrating if you just wait for the notification that someone has accepted a trade.

The point of Goozex is saving money - if you can afford to go out and buy a game you want, you may be better off just doing that and using Goozex for games you are less enthuastic about.

I personally don't see what's wrong with preventing a 'new' user from trading any game less than say 6 weeks old until they have 2 or so successful trades completed.

I wouldn't mind that as a new user.
