I Borrowed CoD4 over the summer and it was awesome and I was thinking about getting it and was wondering if a lot of people still play or is the online community dieing down

it might be, this is because CoD:WaW is coming out, but you still will have a lot of people playing it because they are going back to WWII which is turning fans away from the new game.
I'm not at all convinced that CoD:WaW is going to even match CoD4 in makin the online experience better...They'll draw a crowd because of change of scenery but like you said it might turn some people away, It's like they sub the helicopter for dogs and implement a crappy unbalanced tank
cod4, is still top 2 when it comes to players playing online, and it will stay that way for some time into next year I believe
Was playing this morning at 3/4a PST and had no problems finding full games for DM, Team DM, or S&D.
I don't think COD:WaW will affect COD4 much online because of how they went back to WW2. I hate the old crappy guns and will take COD4 anyday over the new release. I got a beta invite and played it for about 2 days. I wish I could give away the rest of the beta time.
I've mentioned this in my other post about COD: WaW but does anyone actually like the WW2 gun, the MP44, that was added to COD4? I hardly see anyone using it at all. Well, COD: WaW has nothing but those crappy old guns and that is all that you're going to get. Also, the MP44 was one of the better guns from COD2 so the others ones are a lot less efficient.

Battlefield 2 is the best online! Cheap too!
You have no reason to fear that the online part for COD4 is going to die down. When i get online to play some Team Deathmatch there is always about 50,000 people playing.
A lot of ppl still play it, especiall ppl still prestiging.
