i just thought i would create a thread to try and organize who will be playing this beta and possibly the game. if you dont have the beta you can get one from pre-ordering it at gamestop, but quantities are limited and its supposedly going to start this week, even though they haven't handed them out yet (i should say e-mailed).

there are other ways of obtaining a beta, it was posted on the 360 forumns that if you migrated you charlieoscardelta.com account to the callofduty.com you will get one (this im sure is another speculation and i think it will just be a chance oppurtunity) or there is a chance you could get one by just signing up for callofduty.com

there is going to be a beta for both the pc and 360 (sorry ps3 people, mainly for you I-Weapon-X)

The steps for downloading the beta on the 360 are:

1. Sign-in to Xbox LIVE.

2. In the Xbox Dashboard, select Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

3. Select "Redeem Code"

4. Enter the unique code provided

360 Players

PC Players

Edit: supposedly the pc beta will be an open beta! i have no other info on it though.

well txa from what i heard there is supposed to be an open pc beta so that might at least get you into playing that, also there is supposed to be a demo of that 007 quantum of solace game that looks really good for pc somewhere, but i keep only getting directed to a site in some european language.

i pre-ordered Tom Clancy's EndWar so i'm going to be going into that beta sometime this week.  Already ahve the code, just waiting for it to start

Calm down.  I'm just pointing out the fact that they're doing beta's with more than one game.  And all of those games you have to pre-order to get into.

Also, didn't know this had a beta til now.  I'm guessng they just put it up on gamestop's site.

I just happen to check my email and got a beta key. Downloading now... I migrated my account from charlieoscardelta.com and haven't even participated with anything on callofduty.com and still got a key.

I'm kind of hesitant about Activision doing this title although they kept the perks. From a quick glance, I think they might have tried to add too much but I'll see if that holds true after some play time.

it's actually pretty decent, it is very much like CoD:4 once you get used to it and get to create a class. plus the dogs actually work pretty good.

I've only played for about 45 minutes so far and it feels just like COD4 but with a Pacific setting. The additions (more perks and vehicles) didn't really change up the game too much from what I've seen so far. Some weapons/perks did seem a bit overpowered. Just in case anyone hasn't been keeping up with the changes, here are some:

UAV recon = arial recon

Airstrike - artillery

Helicopter - attack dogs (them little fawkers are way overpowered - one bite and your done)

Now there's capture the flag (which I've hated in every MP game), you can also search for games in local areas only but that will take longer for match making. I'm not sure what the game's definition of "local" is but maybe that means what country you're in.

I don't know why Treyarch took it back to WW2 because the guns are obsolete and some are just crap by design. The Type 99 machine gun has the magazine on top of the gun, blocking the right half of your screen.

Overall, it feels almost like a massive expansion pack for COD4. I think it'll keep the COD4 fans going until Infinity Ward releases their new COD title next year.

well if you have a charlieoscardelta.com account you could go to callofduty.com and migrate it and recieve a token, or create a new account and you might recieve one, pre-ordering through Gamestop wil get you one also, plus there is sites sround the net that are offering beta tokens.

OK, now after playing the beta for a little bit, I've come to this; Did anyone like the MP44 from COD4? If you did, then you would love this game. On the same note, if you didn't, well, you've got a whole arsenal of obsolete, inaccurate and inefficient weapons. When you try to go fully automatic on a guy that rounded the corner, your sights are everywhere even if you aim down the sights. Then you watch the replay and the other guy was just spraying and praying randomly and gets you everytime.

I don't think this will be a release day buy for me although I love military first person shooters. I might just get it off Goozex just for the co-op campaign which isn't even that appealing to me. If this game came out before COD4, then yes it would be pretty good but putting the two side-by-side, COD4 has my vote.
