Bracket 1 -
Doom ( pc )
Wolfenstien 3-d ( pc )
Unreal tournament
Quake II
Deus Ex
I chose doom . Because it revolutionsed fps gaming, and helped it become what it is today .
I voted Unreal Tournment. I've never played Deus Ex or Quake 2 so I can't fairly comment on them. So between the other 3 , Wolfenstein may have basically started the genre , and doom may have established it , but Unreal Tournament was the most interesting and fun.
I agree ut was the most fun, Did it get any better for multiplayer games when ut was released !

Even though my experience with the game was from the DC and PS2 versions of the game , no doubt the multiplayer was awesome.
UT was my first foray into multiplayer online shooters, and boy, did it change how I viewed the entire genre. I don't think it gets enough credit, I really don't.
im looking forward to seeing how this whole thing pans out
Doom
I still find myself playing Doom, with the mods to update the graphics and controls. The best part though, is looking at the enemies and thinking about when I found them scary. (Pinky Demon, I am looking at you) Wolf 3d, was great, and who could ever get tired of killing ***, but at the end, all we remember is Robo Hitler and eating dog food. Unreal Tournament, was a great expansion/mod. It is funny, I read some of the gaming history books and watch some documentaries and they talk about UT, but never mention the original Unreal, to which UT was just supposed to be a patch. I really do not think it hit is stride until UT2004, but that is for me personally. Dues Ex and Quake 2 both defined there gameplay, but in the end I owe my gaming hobby, to one of the greats, Doom.

UT has some really exceptional mods... and the mod community was killer too.
