how do you use mario kart wii with a gamecube controller?
Your question is vague... what do you mean, how do you use it? You just plug it in and it works. I've done it myself, it's the same way as using it in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

dont you have to connect and tell it to recognize because everytime i try it, it doesnt recgonzie the controller

No, it should be fine without any special input. If you're using a Wavebird, are you sure it's on the right channel? Are your batteries dead?
ar you plugging the controller into the 1st player slot?
i tired three different controllers. two are wired and one is wireless with brand new batteries. they are all in first slot and the wireless one is on the right channel. now what?
You have to plug it in, start the game, and when it says mario kart wii, and says press start, you press A on the gamecube controller. Then you just use the gamecube controller to navigate throught the menus. I hope that helps.
