So I got matched up with a trade on August 8th, seller had 24 positive evals for games sent, he confirmed and agreed to ship by August 11th.I heard nothing from him, no note saying your game has been mailed, so I figured either he sent it and just didn't bother telling me or maybe he was running a little late, decided to wait it out.Fast forward to today, I get an e-mail from Goozex saying the trade was canceled with a note "sorry i cant find the game". I login, and I've already been matched up with another seller, waiting for him to confirm the trade. So that's it? He couldn't figure out he didn't have or didn't wanna trade the game before he listed it? It took him 11 days to decide to cancel the trade, and it just gets swept under the rug like nothing happened? I don't get a chance to leave this guy feedback? Why is there no penalty for this sort of activity?
Yeah, I'm not sure what's up with the cancellation feature now. Apparently it's something Goozex implemented on purpose, because the cancellation history now has a category for "Trade cancellations done by seller" which is fairly new. In any case, it seems like this is a very bad idea - not only does it allow extreme irresponsibility in sellers, but it could be a field day for scammers.
I don't remember hearing any announcement about this, and I'd be interested to know what the reasoning behind it was.
I thought that both sides have to agree to the cancel? But if the seller is irresponsible in the first place and doesn't want to send you the game, for whatever reason, do you really want to wait the 3 weeks it takes to get your points and trade credit back? That's what I'm stuck doing right now. The guy accepted and then just never did anything. Not responding to emails. No confirmation on shipment. Tried to cancel, but no response. It looks to me like goozex admins need to get their act in gear, and start patroling these scumbags better.
Only for the buyers. Sellers can cancel by themself now.
