How can you make sure the discs other than #1 work?

For example I just received Lost Odyssey

you dont have to leave feedback the day you get the game.

you have time.

Check it out physically (scratches, etc) and then start playing.  From there it is pretty much honor system.

The best way I have found to test all games quickly is to put the CD/DVD into a PC and try to copy the files from the media to your drive.  If they all copy over fine without errors then odds are pretty good that the game is fine.  This works for 99% or PC, PSX, and PS2 games.  There are some games that the files will not copy due to their format, like ESPN extreme for PSX but for the other 99% it's the best and quickest way I have found to test the games.

I use txa's method.  I try the first disc, then visually inspect the rest.

Actually, I usually rely on visual inspection.  I'll visually inspect the disc, if it looks perfect, I'll put it in and make sure it plays, then leave feedback.

Since the only 'discs' I use are PC, I just make sure I can install the game.  And if I can then it is good.

But it isn't always so clear - I have been doing loads of 'retrospective' gaming and articles, installing games that are 5, 10, ... 25 years old.  I'm doing it on my HP2133 Mini-Note, so I use disk images to run the games when a CD is required.  So I have Wizardry VIII installed, and try to use 'Clone CD' to duplicate my CD 3 ... and it just wouldn't work.  I tried other utilities, other PC's, and even the disk image utility built into Mac OS X.  No good.  Yet the CD works great and runs the game ... I just have to have my USB CD drive hooked up, which defeats the purpose ...

there is also a program called cdcheck which checks the integrity of the disc by reading every sector

It doesn't specify but does mention binary data disks ... but does anything *but* PC gaming really matter Wink

Hehe ... I know, but couldn't resist especially since the original post was regarding a XBOX360 game.  I think that CD Check *should* work with console games, but since it is free for personal use it is worth trying!
