Welcome back to the dark side. I'm leveling a shammy right now (currently level 62). Just remember that they kind of suck until level 40, when they get dual wield (assuming you're speccing enhancement). Then they rock.

well - i started playing in may 2007 : my main char has 103 days played : and my alts have about 30 :: so in 365 days, i have 133 days played time : thats 133 x 24 hours = 3192 hours of my life spent in World of Warcraft, but im not complaining :D
no its not an addiction, its a choice - i like playing it lol - if you pulled the plug and said STAY for 12 hours. Ok....but id probly go play WC3 or look up lore on WoWwiki ROFL - so dont feel bad, its a great game, enjoy it :D
btw - i play Madoran US - alliance mainly - but i got a horde char. - look for Chice, alyra, Riainrasuta, kandykid, tomoko, Ellce, alliance-side
or Talamasca on horde. : hope to see you in game (i also play other servers, so lemme know where you play, i got toons on EU and LA servers.

Wow (no pun intended) I could never spend that much time on a game that never ends. I've played WoW in the past, but just couldn't commit to 15 dollars a month for a SINGLE GAME! I pay less than that for XBL where I can play 100's of games.

I wouldn't call it a ripoff ... it is a choice. Personally I would rather spend a couple of hundred $$ a month on a variety of Mac, PC, DS & PSP games than $15 a month on any MMO. But that is my taste.
Then again, through replays there are definitely games I have put >1000 hours into ... of course, in that case the $/hr drops to nearly 0.

I was going to go enhancement for leveling, and then switch over to element with a little bit of restoration thrown in.

It's not a rip off when that $15 per month keeps me interested enough that I no longer buy new console games when they come out. Now I'm content to wait for (most) new releases through Goozex. I'm actually saving a ton of cash over what I used to spend on gaming.
Hey, Im glad people can get that kind of enjoyment and I dont discount its poplularity, but the comparisons are unfair. I dont need internet access to play console games. So Wow is almost the price of one console game a month.

Your statement about the comparision really isn't fair, either. In order to play any console games online, you do need Internet access. Also, to play XBL, you need a Gold account.
That's really a horrible way to look at it. In this day and age you need to internet. I'd have it even if I didn't play WoW, So it's not really fair to include the monthly cost of broadband as part of the fee. It's just one of the things I use the internet for.
I dislike WoW because it causes me to compare gamers to Amy Winehouse.
