Ain't what we started with, that's for sure... Somewhat relevant but the point is - at what point in the negatives should someone's account and therefore their 'stock' be cut off??  Is Goozex hanging onto this junk to keep the 'matrix' looking full, even though it's full of holes and then like I found - 'holes'?

If he/she/it's above -21, then should be on hold - stuff taken out of the system completely and then reviewed by someone from Goozex before they can continue.  Pay for one of those certification/verification services or something to continue where it costs Goozex little to nothing in time/manpower/expenses but that the ***'s account can't do squat until they prove they're real and serious about continuing.

Or again... are the decks being stacked/salted with this junk on purpose?

Didn't think I should start a new topic:

A user requested that I send to a different address. I checked his shipping info and it's the one he told me to ship to, so should I send it?

He doesn't have any feedback in/out.

Perhaps they forgot they changed it.  If it matches the one in the system go ahead and ship it.  Just take the usual precautions.

wait so goozex gave you an address for the guy, and the guy PM'd you saying "don't ship to that address; ship to this one" but proceeded to tell you the same address goozex had told you anyways?  Weird, but it still seems like there's only one address in play here, so send it there.  Correct me if I missed something.

Check to see how long he's been around.  If he's that new and hasn't done a trade, odds on favorite you'll end up with hassles.  I've traded a couple with strange address dealings, thankfully they worked out.  Another thing to do is require they change their online address that comes up for the trade because 'you have to have it to print the label out' even if you're not going to use the online USPS or other system.

One thing that Cheeze blew by, where are all these addresses?  When you accept the trade you should be able to see one.  If he then asked you to send it to another and hasn't changed the Goozex one - either pass or require him to change it.  Otherwise what you said makes no sense?  Only his current address should be in Goozex.  And, I know for a fact, he can go in and edit it before you confirm shipping.

ALSO - check the address against USPS records by using their address checker online!  Also punch it into Google or Bing (MS) Maps and see if either finds a legit address.  Then go one better and use the overhead or bird's eye views and see if you're dealing with an empty lot, house or what.  Many times that gives the scammers away!  Once you see something that appears legit, if you're still concerned then ask them about what you're found, house colors, cars in the drive or next door, etc. and if they can't answer simple questions about things they see every day - THEN walk away.

Goozex has guarantees to help you, but what they don't explain is the more documentation you have the better.  They can see the messages in your mailbox on Goozex and if you made an honest effort - they'll back you.

I'd just print out the address with the Goozex return address on it.  That way if something goes awry they get it and the seller (wetwillies) will be covered.  He's covered even if he hand writes it if he gets DC.

Well that's nice and all Cheezy, but what happens when it's one of a ton of scammers that've been preying on people around here for awhile that wan tit shipped to a drop house?  Ain't no way the USPS is going to send it back to the return address, he could put his own and it won't matter.  Wishful thinking.

Like I said, the part you missed is plannjing for being scammed out of the thing totally.  Sure, you get your points if Goozex approves it, but then you're out of the disc/game totally.  Hopefully the rating's close enough to be a fair deal.  By checking out the target, he's ensuring it's a real person, real location and a high chance it'll work.

Been that was since scammers first started with drop houses for stolen credt card numbers and mail order catalogs back to the 70's.  Newer and younger folks may not have heard about this, so it should be part of their 'common sense' to dig deeper if someone pops a red flag like he described.  I had a guy in NYC with the same thing, but he had a history.  I looked up where he wanted it to go - work was a 'commune' where anyone could accept delivery and take off with it, then I'm stuck for weeks getting it resolved.  Home was a questionable house, but digging as i mentioned he confirmed a couple of things and I found out his address wasn't the way USPS required it - fixed it all and it went without a hitch.  No weeks of screwing around to get points, 14-21 days 'to ensure if it was delivered or not' or all that.

';Heads up' for a trade and spending an extra minute or two is far better than heads up somewhere else.

I have the same problem now with a buyer of a 700 point game that has only 4 feedback, but has 4 trade cancellation requests too.  And then has asks me to send it to his friend's address since it's his birthday - doesn't make sense and smells real bad to me.

By the way, I am from Ontario and have sent out plenty of mint games, always bubble-wrapped and insured where possible.  The vast majority of us are as clean as they come, but there are definitely scoundrels everywhere.

As others have stated, beware of high trade value games being requested by people with little or no feedback, a history of cancellations, bad feedback etc.  Always check before accepting the trade.

Bottom line is do not ship to any other address than the one Goozex provides.  Ship to the address in the system and use DC when applicable.  To those paranoid about "he changed his address after I shipped, he's scamming me!", Goozex can check the profiles and tell when it was changed, so relax a bit.

Are you shipping to a fellow Canadian user?  If you are you might want to consider shipping to the address in the system and using Express Post, that way you'll have DC.  That will save you about $4 compared to shipping it parcel.  If that's not an option I'd print out the mailing slip Goozex provides and use that to ship.  Just take a pic of the game and then a pic of it packaged up and hold on to your receipt.

ROFL - only one with paranoia and conspiracy stuff round here is you Cheezy babe!

You're on the inside, not out here with the rest of us.  No one said 'he changed his address after we started a trade', nice try though!  I said someone CAN change their address in their profile to whatever they want while a trade is pending.

That means if they forgot to update their address, they can do so before you print anything out and CONFIRM the trade so that your labels and paperwork say this address they want you to send it to - not the original that's sitting there.  I had a guy do that, he was legit, but I told him in order to print the USPS label (hugely overpriced btw) with the proper address he had to update his profile so Goozex had it.  I wasn't going to use it while some other one was listed at Goozex.

Someone who balks at doing that, especially with no history as was mentioned, is someone you should think about cancelling the trade with before something happens.

I know in CheezyGoozy land nothing should ever be cancelled because there goes $1, but those of us out here would like to have the best shot at happy trades.  As the gent from over the border says, almost all of mine have been fantastic.  But, there's a few idiots that like to foul things up.  You want to spin that pro-Goozey, that's all on you.  I'm giving them reality common sense instructions.  If they want to bother, more power to them.  If not, then it's not clear why someone would even have that question and should just ship the thing.
