I been waiting to be confirmed with a seller for the past few days. Two times I got the same person selling the game. Problem is on the 24 hour the seller drops out. This has happened 3 times and I am currently waiting for the 4 person to accept or decline the trade. He probably will decline to accept (I think this becasue he has no feedback). I have feedback over 50. I would lile to suggest 2 things happen. One, if a seller does not accept your trade there should be some recourse, like negative feedback. I think its unfair to wait 20 plus hours for a seller to decline when other games by other sellers are being traded. 2. I would like the option of not dealing with people(sellers) who have no feedback. These 2 options would help get games faster to customers.
We will implement an update to the seller timeout in the next few days. To keep things simple, the seller's offer will be put on hold after a timeout, and will require a manual re-activation to be considered for a trade again.
There will be the usual max number of timeouts (it's 2 now, we may move up to 3). After that the offer will be entirely withdrawn from the queue.
Funny reading this. I didn't realize that the offers were completely pulled after a few timed out requests.
I rarely see the email requests in time and a LOT of my offers time out. I typically find out I have an offer and the email is accompanied by another email telling me it has timed out. It's really annoying to me since I am trying to get rid of my games.
I was searching the forums to find people annoyed by the short amount of time you're given to respond, but I guess more people are annoyed by waiting for people like me to respond.
I'm the exact opposite. I put a game in my requests queue and don't really think about it again until one shows up in my mailbox.
Sounds like a lot of people sit around on pins and needles waiting to see if someone's going to send them a game.
Anyway, I can't say I'll try harder to check my email more often. I have three small children and games are WAY down on my priority list.
Luckily for me, I don't really care about getting my game removed from the queue after a few attempts. I'll try my best to check, but I have a lot going on.
I wouldn't think it would be fair to give me negative feedback for timing out either. When I do get lucky enough to catch one of the trade requests and accept - I always do a great job of getting the game out quickly. Also, all of my games are in pristine condition and complete.
I'm always upset that I miss the trade opportunities and that really is punishment enough.
Just my thoughts on all of this.
And how is it not punishment for people to have to sit through multiple people timing out after 26 hours, sometimes the same person 2 times in a row or more before this update? It's a major issue especially on newer games, and was a major concern about scammers holding up lines. If you can't check the site or email daily and having a problem getting trades then I can't really tell you much except that maybe its not the right site for you.
This is a great change, it should be announced to the community in a more obvious fashion. Like the update on the front page for the confirm ship get points change. common sense is winning, for once, bravo.
You do realize this thread is from 2008 right?
I've been running into this problem recently. I think that if a person hasn't logged into the site in say a week (could be longer, just throwing a timeframe out there) their offers are put on hold until they sign in again. I'm on my third seller for Mass Effect after the last two timed out. Was kind of hoping to have the game before Wendsday so I could play it on my 24 hour shit. Guess not.

It's not that often that you have to check your email. Just once a day essentially. Or at least once every 24 hour period, i should say. That seems like a normal frequency for the average person to me, but I could be wrong. It'd be cool if you could ge a text message from Goozex upon match. Everyone carries their phones around.

If I had to take a 24 hour sh*t then Mass Effect would be a good choice game to help pass the time

I just made the change in my filters so I should be all set from now on. I set it so that any email from goozex with the word "requested" is sent to my phone.
That should help a LOT.
Thanks for the suggestions guys!
