I'd say suikoden 2. It was one of my first games ever, and i fell in love with it right from the start. It made me buy more games like it.

See my forums in my profile if you get the chance!

There are a lot of games that influenced my gaming habit.  I can remember playing on my parents Atari 2600 system, Atari 800 computer, and Intellivision.  I have fond memories of some kind of parachute game on the Atari and a couple tank games on one of them.  I remember a few cool games on the computer like a Bruce Lee game (I think it was on a cassette?), Adventure Quest, Lode Runner, and Pinball Construction Set (on a 5 1/4 floppy) where you could construct your own 8bit pinball board.  My dad used to be part of an Atari club and would bring me and my brother there all the time.  Fun times.

But I think the one game that really got me into gaming was Legend of Zelda.  Since then, I've been obsessed with LoZ. Although Super Mario 3 also influenced me.  Then I ended up getting a Genesis instead of an SNES and all of the Sonic games plus Toe Jam and Earl: Panic on Funkatron were my favorites.  I've had lots of good times with my videogames =).

cheeznrice:

The Commodore 64 and the endless list of games my dad had for it.

This - except it was my older brother who had the endless collection of games - Summer/Winter Games, BC, Beachhead, Jumpman, Spelunker, Telengard, Bard's Tale, Ultima....so many good games for the time.

Colecovision was my introduction to consoles and i'm a firm beleiver that ever console controller SHOULD have a numeric keypad built into it.

And then came the NES folowed by the 16-bit wars...

I think the *first* game that I was really pleased to play was the arcade Centipede/Millipede.  That was one game that I'd seek out in any arcade I was in.  Funny thing, I dont even count it as one of my favorite games of all time, but as I sit back and think about it, at one time it was my absolute favorite.

However, the game that got me gaming daily was Zaxxon.  One Christmas, my parents bought me a tabletop Zaxxon and my sister a tabletop Ms Pac Man.  I burned through so many batteries playing those two.  I was never extremely good at Zaxxon, but I loved playing it.  I should go to my parents house and see if I can find/refurbish those tabletop games.
