Quick and dumb question -- but I gotta know if Mac mice have the right-click function?  If not, how is gaming with that in mind?

There is the cmd-click right click function that is what I use when I just have the trackpad, but otherwise I have a bunch of MS Intellimouse 5 button mice I still use for *everything* ... not hi-res like newer ones but work great ...

Invest in an Apple Mighty Mouse. It has right-click ability, as well as 360º scrolling that works very nicely on Macs.

I'm a long-time Mac user and general Apple apologist, but the Mighty Mouse is one of their biggest failures to date. It's only rated 2.5 / 5 stars on Apple's own website! The scroll wheel will stop working quickly - out of three that we've had, they've lasted 1 week, 3 weeks, and 1 month before starting to have problems. You can sort of clean it by rubbing the top with alcohol, but you can't open the mouse up if it does have problems. Also, the right click button is a huge pain to use. They tried to make it all cool and futuristic by not having the buttons clearly defined, but in practice this just means you accidentally click the wrong one all the time. Seriously, just get a third party mouse if you have the option.

I know this thread is nearly a year old and just got bumped for no obvious reason, but if I can save anyone from the horrible fate of this mouse it'll be worth while.

I always use the cheap ($20 or less) microsoft optical mice. The bigger size fits my hand better, and it just plain works when you plug it into a Mac. Mac mice require being configured to right-click for the ones that have the feature.

Me too or budget mice off Ebay that are like $5.95. I got a steal on two optical ones with two buttons. Work better than a Mighty Mouse.
