I have been the victim of quick timeouts.  Sending a request at 5:30 pm on a Sat night and then timing out before I get to read my mail on Monday morning seems unreasonable.  My suggestion would be a 3 day window which would allow for weekends, holidays, etc.  What is the general feeling on this matter?

I would think that you would be in the minority in regards to this.  There are two periods of 26 hours to respond.  I wonder if extending the periods over the weekend is something that will be helpful to some.

I think I'd be OK with a longer weekend-acceptance period if the current code allowed for it. It makes sense that people might not be around to check e-mail during the weekends.

But at the same time you'd have more threads asking for the ability to penalize users who don't respond.

I'm glad this thread is here to back me up for all the times that I've told people who complain that the timeout period is too long that people will complain both ways no matter where it is set.

I also believe that if you make it longer for weekends you will have people who say they only have time to do gaming stuff on weekends.

Good point. I've also noticed I get more traffic on weekends than weekdays.

Thanks for the reply, however, I received the first and only request on Saturday 5/31 at 5:30pm and the timeout on Sunday 6/1 at  8:00 pm.  Had there been 2 requests, I would have been able to respond.

Locksmith - what probably happened in your case is that the other user clicked "Put on Hold if Timeout" button to remove the request.  Otherwise you would have gotten your second request period.

I was under the impression that locksmith was the potential seller, and the request timed out before he saw it.

I think he was, but the person who requested it probably set the game to go on hold in their request list if it timed out once.
