... or I could save myself the trouble and remove USA from the countries I ship to, but I don't want to do that.  I just want to save on shipping.

If you arent willing to send games full package to the USA then remove them from your list.  Personally I will not send games below 500pts there so if I get matched up for a lower point game I decline the trade.  I mostly only trade out 1000pt games so its not a big deal.

Your idea is not something that will ever happen since very few people would ever use it.  It actually only costs $5 to ship full package games to the US.

How about txting notifications for when people opt to get your games?

No, not at this point. It's been heavily debated, but as of right now, I don't believe there are any plans to implement it. Games that have the case but no manual are listed as disc only right now.

I know many people have probably already said this before, but I really want a fourth option with the shipping. The "Game + Case" option. I can't choose "Full Package" because I dont have the manual. I can't choose "Game + Manual" because again, I don't have the manual. And I can't choose "Game Only" because I actually have the case that comes with it! Can we please change this?

You certainly can and should choose Disc Only. The case is an optional item that you can choose to send with a Disc Only trade if you have it available.

There's plenty of discussion about why there is not a Disc + Case option.

I know this post is more about adding disc+case option, but I have a better idea. Make it so that whenever you post a trade there is a small list of bubbles with all of the items like case, disk, manual, and additional stuff. That way everyone can make their own "option". Of course disk would be neccesary though.

Then as far as buyers, they check off what they want, and they get either the bare minimum they asked for or if avaible they get added bonuses. That way people with less expectations get faster trades (For popular games choosing disc only doesn't always make it faster).

I know they would take alot of work, but it would make a much more user-friendly system and less problems with people who do things like send full package without manual just so they can trade faster.

I'm pretty new here, but I think there can be a great deal of improvement to the Shipping Options, particularly with the condition of the game disc, manual, case, and any other accessories that go with it.

I haven't read all of the posts in this thread, but it looks like there's a consensus that there needs to be a 'selection matrix' where traders can check off what exactly they have (disc, manual, case) to trade, and even more importantly IMO, the condition of each.

Just for example, I recently traded Terminator: Salvation.  My first, actually.  The user I traded with left feedback of +5 instead of +10 since the case wasn't in pristine condition -- I had actually PM'ed him about the case (small tear in plastic, small crack sticker reside) beforehand so that he wouldn't be disappointed with it when he saw it.  In his comments he explained that he would expect to receive the same type of feedback if he were to trade a game in the same condition, and I have to agree with him, given the way the system is currently set up and the criteria Goozex suggests in the Feedback section.

So my suggestion is this:  Create a checklist that users can mark as "yes" or "no" for contents of a game: Disc (madatory), original or non-original case (optional), original or non-original manual (optional), and an "other" category that can be filled in for certain things like extra content for a special/limited edition.  A points system next to each of these (#/5 or something like that) would let traders know exactly what to expect in the mail, and perhaps match traders together even more accurately than the current system.

I know something like this would take a long time to figure out an implement, but I have a feeling a more detailed trading matrix would give traders many more options and reduce the amount of 'surprises' and expectations about the condition of a game's contents.

I see a two-step solution:

1)  Short-term:  I think "Disc + Original Case" is a much more useful option than "Disc + Manual".  I would be happy if "Manual" disappeared and was replaced by "Case".  Same number of options, no slow downs.  Just a bit of a problem with the transitional period.

2) Long-term:  Instead of three defined levels, each game has several check boxes when listing and requesting.

  • Disc (always)
  • Original Case
  • Manual
  • Accessories (where applicable)
  • Bonus Materials (where applicable)

When a new request comes in or a new listing is made, it is compared to the queue from the top down, until a match is made.

I didn't read the rest of the thread, but THIS, I like.  This makes everyone happy, even those of us (me, lol) who have cases and manuals lying around that could earn us some quick and easy points from whoever wants them.  You'd probably have to make it where case-only is 100 points or 50 points or something.
