I've seen a lot of these threads myself, but don't think I've weighed in on them personally.  Originally, I figured "Just remove Manual + Disc, and put Case and Disc", for the above logic.  More often than not it's the manual that's missing, not the case.

However, for my PC games especially, I use a large CD binder to store them, and all the manuals are in the back, so disc + manual works well for me in that instance alone.  Otherwise, I can't imagine someone having a manual without a case to store it in.

I'd presume the hardest part would be where to rank the new disc + case option.  If a user selected that, does that mean they WOULD also accept disc + manual and a full package, or ONLY  also accept a full package.

To go along with this thread, there is also a thread stickied in the "General Games Discussion" forum about the Disc + Case option (with a poll)!

i would like an option for shipping. i hate to get games media mail or parcel post because they can take upto 2 weeks (10 business days) when they only save less than $0.50 vs first class. i would like a radial for shipping options like:

priority

first class

any

etc...

what about making default selection the full package.  That way idiots like me who just spent 1000 pts and who forget to change it don't get a just a disk.

You can do that yourself, actually.  By clicking "My Account" and then "Change Default Shipping Options".  You can change it for Requests (default being Disc Only) and Offers (default being Full Package).

This is correct, in fact you can set your "offers" and "requests" independently of each other. I have both of mine set to default to full package...

currently, this is "disc only".

some of us (myself included) are hoping to change that.

for those who say "how will that be ranked", I say disc +case and disc+manual are on the same level. If you care more about the case, select that one. If you care more about the manual, select that one. IF you don't care about either, disc only. IF you care about both, fp. Simple.

Hey all, another Goozex newb here.

I joined several months ago but have only recently taken the plunge and starting working with the system.  I have shipped three games so far, all of them "full package".  It's been a fun process and I'm looking forward to cashing in my points for something I want.

For two of the three items I shipped, I felt the need to communicate with the requestor prior to accepting the trade request.  The items had gone through the super mega GameStop sticker machine and I felt that it was proper to notify the other party about it.  In both cases they still wanted the game and thus I shipped them off.

What this made me really wish for though was an opportunity to add a brief description/comment to all the games I'm offering up.  If the requestor had a chance to see my words explaining the condition of the item before they made the request, I'd feel better about it.  So far PMing has worked ok, but doing this potentially adds hours to exchange process.

If we had the above, we could change the second option from "Disc + Manual" to "Disc + Manual or Case" and the offerer could explain the specifics in the comments box.  This way the matrix would work like it works now, with just three options, but the requestor will know what they're getting before kicking off the trade request.  In addition the offerer has peace of mind in knowing they picked the appropriate box and is properly advertising their item.

So I would've edited my above post but it kept erroring out.  Sorry for the double post!

Having just completed my first request I now see that you don't get presented with the item before submitting the request.  It happens automagically and that kinda makes my idea not work, at least not with some reworking.  So, move along, just some newb talkin... :)

what would be nice is to set the shipping option depending on the destination, for e.g. Full Package to Canada, but Disc Only to USA. it's not that I dislike Americans, in fact I love our neighbors, but paying 7$ to send a full packaged game to the USA is a bit excessive, thanks to our wonderful postal service.

OR you could always check the address you would be shipping to BEFORE you accept the trade, but i guess that just makes to much sense as well

correct me if I'm wrong, but once a trade is proposed to me, it's too late to change the shipping option.

You can't change the shipping option no but your are not committed to send a full package at that point you can not accept the trade and get matched to someone else...

... or I could save myself the trouble and remove USA from the countries I ship to, but I don't want to do that.  I just want to save on shipping.
