XBoxLive class action suite

Three Xboxlive customers have filed a class action lawsuite against MS for the poor service over the last two weeks, stating "MS knew there would be an influx of customers over the holiday, they should have taken steps to prevent it" (not a word for word quote).

While I think a law suite is rediculous, Im getting really annoyed with the Live issues. Its lead to ALOT more PS3 gaming for me.

The live thing was odd for me, my first 3 blades would sit with the dotted loading circle. So I couldn't access my games and stuff. It wasn't like when there isn't a connection because your user profile still logs in. But it would take 2-5 minutes to drop into the blades. I wasn't particularly pleased but ganking the wifi connector would fix it since it wouldn't try to log in. Failure of the live service should not render my console slow/unusable. Glad to see it's working well again.

Mine still works like crap. I couldnt play COD4 last night. My console will freeze on any Live related application for as long as 2 minutes. Its gotten pretty darn aggrivating.

While it was annoying, it could be worse. First of all, Microsoft is giving us a free XBLA game which more then makes up for it. You have to figure two weeks of XBL costs about $2 and the game will be worth atleast 200 points (about $2 real money). Second, atleast Microsoft is nice enough to compensate its customers. I know that every now and again my broadband will go out for a few hours and Comcast does nothing to compensate its customers for the loss of service (you have to figre at around $60 a month for broadband 12 hours of outage is $3). Third, what do they expect to get out of a law suite? Microsoft has more moneys for lawyers, but it would probably be cheaper to just give the guys $2 each for the amount of service time they lost.

I am not saying that its ok that the serivce went out, I was very annoyed as well, but atleast Microsoft is a stand up company and treats their customers well. As much of an evil empire as M$ may be, they have always had great customer service when I need them.

I dont care if they do compensate us, I just want my reliable service back, as of last night I still couldnt play games online with out getting disconnected. Keep your XLBA game, gimme my flawless online gaming back.

People are too happy to sue each other. They keep thinking easy money and such...bah. Microsoft should tack on the downtime time amount on top of your current subscriptions. Hope you guys get a good free game.

The lawsuit is pointless. However failure of the xbox live service shouldn't cause 3 blades to freeze with a loading screen, I just wanted to play a local game.

 Agreed service is down for 1 week 2 weeks whatever, tack that on the end with a bit extra say 20% on top of the downtime.

 I would agree with them that xblive has been doing horrible over the hollidays and should of expected that 100%. Call of Duty 4 failed so many times i was about to throw my 360 at the wall (well not really.) Halo 3 was ok, but failed much more than should be. Xblive would freeze on me for 10 seconds at any random spot. Overall it sucked but i havent checked to see if its fixed.

 I don't necessarily dislike people editing others posts but I do find it slightly irratating when they contribute nothing alongside it that actually pertains to the topic at hand. That being said, I lucked out, my live subscription ended just before this nonsense and I am not using my new card until things are all clear. As for the lawsuit, seems a bit silly to me.

 This whole time I thought there was something wrong with my xbox 360!! Glad to knwo it was a problem on their side. I'm not sure if I would file a LAW SUITE!! That's crazy, it seems everyone is filing something or another.

Wow. That's insane. I mean, they are suing upwards of $1 million when they pay $50 a year. LOL, people will do anything for money these days. Sad thing is, they'll probably win.
