The Fall semester is coming to an end and soon you’ll be on your winter break.  While on break, the Goozex Faculty Staff would like to remind all of you about the FREE trades available to all “.edu” students.  From now through January 31, 2010 Goozex student members will have free trades on movies and games.  A- students will take advantage and stock up for the Spring semester.  A+ students will also tell their classmates, professors and family how much they learned about saving money on Goozex!

New members should register with a “.edu” email address.  Existing student members should simply change and then confirm their “.edu” email addresses.  Know this and you’ll pass the Goozex101 exam with no problem.  Happy Trading!

Question: Hey I just sent out two awesome games and I got 400 bonus points, now what?
Answer: Why not convert those points earned on the two trades plus the bonuses (2000 + 400) and get a new game off the Goozex Exchange!  Hot new titles and pre-orders are being added on a regular basis to the exchange.  Sending out 2 hot games gets you 1 new game guaranteed.  It’s our play on the classic 2-for-1 special. 

A recent letter we received at Goozex read like this:

Thanks for the note R.B. and you’ll be happy to know that all movie trades are free through January 31, 2010!  Basically you don’t need to use your tokens to get movies on Goozex for the next month and a half.  You will just need the appropriate amount of points to get movies.  HURRY before this promotion ends!

So here’s the true story about why Valve rocks!  Every month Goozex helps organize gaming nights at Walter Reed Army Medical Hospital here in Washington DC with the non-profit organization Cause (http://www.cause-usa.org).  One of the volunteers is a massive Left 4 Dead fan and was hoping Valve would donate some swag to give away as prizes to the troops that played the game for November’s gaming night.  We emailed Valve and they wrote back with an affirmative YES!  What we didn’t know is that they sent us brand spanking new copies of Left 4 Dead 2 to giveaway and donate to the Cause free game/movie rental library in the hospital.  Seriously, Valve rocked it hard with that donation!

If you’re thinking about someone this Holiday season that could use a little zombie horde action to make it merry, then you must pick up Left 4 Dead 2 now!  Zombie hordes, melee action, zombie hordes, versus mode, zombie hordes…well you get the message: It’s a must have Holiday gift!!

Opt-in/Opt-out survey emails
Goozex has a new initiative to bring our members closer to the gaming industry.  One way of doing this is exposing members to surveys done by the gaming publishers to get your feedback on new and exciting products.  Pretty much every survey we send out now has some kind of preview of a new game coming out and the publishers need your input to make better!  If you don’t think the survey emails sent by Goozex to you are interesting then you may easily Opt-Out by going to My Account - Edit Email Preferences.

Forum talks
We’ve updated how you can discuss movies and games on Goozex and share your opinion on them.  Users can now see all most recent discussions (up to 10) and click to open any of those -- or start a new one if needed. Just go to your favorite game or movie, and click the "Forum Talks" tab.

First name on shipping labels
Goozex usually does not print a recipient's first name on the shipping labels for privacy reasons. However, some users complained in the past that their mailman was not able to deliver mail without the full first name (e.g. dormitories). We have made this optional: by default, Goozex only shows the first letter of your name.
If you disable this option, the Goozex labels will show your full first name, helping the mailman whenever it is necessary.  You can edit your option here:
