The Goozex Exchange (beta) is a new service from Goozex that allows members to spend their points and order new items from Goozex. Now you can trade your games and movies, earn points, and then put your points to good use and buy new items!

The service is in "beta" right now, meaning that we are still testing some of the features. While in this state, Goozex offers a limited selection of titles, and depending on demand for products may run it on a limited basis. We anticipate that the service will be extended to cover a larger selection of titles, and that is will be available on a more continuous basis in the future. The idea is to offer a venue where you can spend your hard-earned points for new games, in an easy and fast process.

Terms and conditions

At the moment the service is provided on a limited basis. Goozex reserves the right to suspend the service at any time, and does not guarantee that the service will be available in the future, or that the same products will be available in the future.

All orders are processed through trusted third party vendors and partners. The products ordered are shipped directly by our partners at the address the user has on file with Goozex at the time of purchase. You, the user, takes full responsibility in ensuring the address on file with Goozex is correct and current. Should the package be returned to Goozex for "invalid, unknown, or wrong address", Goozex reserves the right to charge the user account with the amount of points spent by you, the user, to purchase the product, plus shipping and handling fees.

New orders on the Exchange are processed by Goozex within 5 - 10 business days. The products are shipped by our fulfillment partners using standard mail. It may take up to 10 - 15 business days for a new order to be delivered. Goozex makes the best effort in offering products that are readily available by our fulfillment partners. Each user may be limited to a maximum number of orders every month, and may be limited to order a maximum number of copies of each product. For every friend you refer and who becomes an active trader you will receive 1 trade token. "Active traders" are those members that have completed their first trade successfully as sellers to the buyer's satisfaction with positive feedback. Your friend must complete their first positive trade as seller by December 31, 2009 in order to earn the bonus. After that date the bonus will be forfeited. Friends must be different physical persons than the referring users and live at different households. Referred users will not be counted as friends if they have the same address as the referring user, or if they have the same name but a different address. Existing users cannot be referred as friends. Trades completed with referred friends will not be counted towards the bonus and will forfeit any pending bonus. Goozex reserves the right to suspend, modify or terminate the terms of this promotion at any time.

The 2009 Refer a Friend Sweepstakes

Some eligibility criteria apply: user account must be in good standing, with a valid address on file with Goozex, with a positive transaction history, and with a feedback score higher than a minimum threshold. Goozex is happy to introduce our latest service feature: automatic shipping labels! It's our answer to the ageless question - "how can I avoid the Post Office?" The Goozex automatic shipping labels not only let you avoid the Post Office, but they give you that piece of mind with tracking info. Shipping games on Goozex is now super convenient and can be done in three easy steps:

Print, Apply, Ship!

Here's how it works:

After you agree to ship a game you will be asked if you'd like print a shipping label for the package. Once you click on that button you will be given the pre-determined Goozex shipping cost. Goozex at the moment has weight information for about 3,000 games, and we continually add on top of that.

Next, choose your payment method: Credit Card (via Bank of America's Cyber Source or PayPal). After making the payment you can then print your new postage label, apply it to your mailer and simply drop it off in any mailbox! The printed postage label is 4 by 6 inches, fitting the most common mailers.

You are even given the flexibility to add your own shipping weight to the game and use that for the shipping process.

How we calculate the cost?

The cost of shipping packages via USPS is determined on the overall package weight, distance from buyer to seller, and type of postage (first class vs. priority). Goozex is working with third party vendors to provide this service and there is a small service fee to help cover Goozex expenses to deliver shipping labels to you. We believe that you will find the Goozex automatic shipping labels to be a great convenience, saving you time and money. No longer do you have to drive to the Post Office and wait in long lines to ship that game out.

Goozex Tower of Power

Hey everyone!

Wanted to share a cool picture of Goozex growth in 2008. The picture below illustrates how tall the stack of games would be of all 2008 trades on Goozex. As you can see it would be basically twice as tall as the tallest skyscraper in the world, Al Burj (not yet built). That is epic growth in one year thanks to all the Goozex members that have been trading with us.

To get a sense of how tall our Goozex Tower was at the end of 2007, the top of the "Trade" billboard on our building marks the spot. In other words, we've grown over 300% in just one year!

Each brick in the Goozex Tower represents an important value -- Get a fair trade value for your games! This, in turn, leads to more gaming for each Goozex member. What we've seen in 2008 is that members get more and game more on Goozex. Proving this point, member zacksnini received 76 games this past January alone! Ultimately, that translates into significant money saved on playing video games. We calculate that in just 6 months, zacksnini has already saved over $3,000 on video games.

Thanks to everyone that made a trade in 2008, and will make a trade in 2009. Question is, how high will the Goozex Tower of Power grow this year?

We are excited to announce that starting today we are running a two month donation drive for our wounded troops recuperating in military hospitals! To help get this done, we have partnered with a great non-profit organization that works with our wounded on a daily basis: Cause (Comfort for America's Uniformed Services) www.cause-usa.org

Your Support Matters!
You can help support the young men & women who have returned from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan with serious injuries. These soldiers are recovering from serious battlefield wounds in military hospitals across the country, often undergoing grueling daily rehabilitation routines. Video games and DVDs are a source of entertainment and relaxation for them during their long periods of rehabilitation. That’s where you can help out!

Cause has programs at five military hospitals and they have created Amazon wish lists of the DVDs and video games soldiers at those hospitals are requesting. Here are the Amazon wish list links for each hospital:

Q. How much should I donate?
A. That’s up to you and you can be sure every dollar counts. Donate as much as you’re comfortable with and that doesn’t put you into a financially bad situation.

Q. When do you stop taking donations?

Q. What will you do if you have excess donations from members and 100% of the hospital orders have been met?
A. We will give 100% of the money to Cause. Goozex is not profiting in this fundraiser in any way.

Q. What does 501(c)(3) non-profit organization mean?
A. It is a Federal IRS code that designates Cause-USA.org to accept tax deductible donations. This is a difficult IRS code to get and is a testament to the credibility of this organization.

Q. I want to donate a large amount and require a tax deductible receipt, what should I do?
A. To obtain an acknowledgement from Cause of your tax deductible donation, send a check made payable to Cause (#2 above) and mail it to Goozex. We will then send the check with your personal contact info (name/address/email) to the organization.

Q. If I pay via PayPal will I be able to get a tax deductible receipt from Cause or Goozex, Inc.?
A. Unfortunately no. Goozex, Inc. is not a non-profit organization and payments made to Goozex, even though intended for Cause, are not tax deductible. We recommend that if you are donating a large amount that you send a check (payment option #2) and make it payable to Cause.

Q. Why is Goozex handling the money transaction instead of me going directly to Amazon and making the donation myself?
A. Cause and Goozex worked this plan out to avoid a situation where we overwhelm the Amazon wish list and get 100 copies of the same game going to the same hospital. Those extra 99 copies are not needed and will put a strain on the volunteer resources. We also wanted to be able to recognize our members who have donated and will be posting here a list of users who donated.

Q. If I donate money and change my mind later, can I get a refund?
A. Unfortunately no. We will quickly make use of your donations. Please be sure you can donate before you send the money to avoid this type of situation.
